What is the best course of action if you are put on Performance Improvement Plan? Hand in my resignation or stick around for things to get better? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Because managers are rewarded for having many workers, there are usually more employees than work itself.
@@gahn+1nYFxkvP. Maybe you need a performance improvement plan. Managers and directors in this company su-k.

if we don't have projects to do, how do we improve?
I have assigned PIPs myself. I have had employees that have improved and I have kept and I have had employees that refused to acknowledge their mistakes or better themselves and they have been fired. To me it is all in the hands of the person given the performance improvement plan. I'm sure this is not always the case, but when I give one it is
They are also allowed to share if a person is re-hire-able. Perhaps that could vary by state???
I thought past employers could only give out dates of employment and position.
RE: OP ineligible for rehire
Most companies will put you on that do not rehire list if you fail to provide two weeks notice. I admire you for expressing yourself though. I wish I could do the same, but I'm not in the greatest financial position. Are you actually thinking about coming back to this place?!?!?!
I have a question about “ineligible for rehire.
Background: I was a senior top preforming manager on my team. The VP found a boatload of excuses not to move a product to an area of the company where it belonged. I was working all day, everyday. I found out he was making a commission on each of my sales, and I’m talking huge sales. So one day I told him to f himself and I quit. Best decision ever. He reported me as job abandonment and even had the police come to my house for a wellness check. After a year, I was able to get that corrected at the company and the state labor board to resignation.
Question: is there some master list out there that HR and Recruiting float around about difficult employees by listing them as “ineligible for rehire” and the company figures out the rest? I had a really hard time finding another job. I think my current company was so desperate that they hired me.
It will still take them six months to terminate you legally. Also this company is packed with incompetent employees. People that have been in their roles for YEARS and still don't know what they are doing. I'm not saying you're one of them, but it is what it is. Make sure they're not targeting only you for whatever reason. Wish you luck. Even if you end up leaving this h3ll hole your life will be better for it! All this toxicity will be out of your life.
OP do not share what dept or segment you work in. This comment and the question reads like an HR troll.
It all depends on which department you're in. Sometimes the goal of the PIP is to truly outline what changes you need to make in 30/60/90 days. Do you mind sharing what dept. or segment you work in?
In case others do not know, if you get put on a "plan" you cannot apply for another job internally.
I disagree. Firing you means unemployment benefits. Resignation will not. But no bones about it, youre getting the boot.
Yes another strategy to Ax people. I agree with the poster advice, it won't get better. Not sure what the reason for PIP, was it only you or a few people ? Suppose that doesn't matter. Take PTO and look for another job. Sorry that happened to you. Maybe go on a stress leave disability..
PIPs are a formal way to (ultimately) fire you without getting sued-- or better yet, they hope you'll resign. Most HR specialist attest to this. If you were placed on a PIP things will not "get better". Your manager wants you gone. Suggest you find another job ASAP and resign so that you don't have 'unvoluntary termination' on your employment history. Future employers doing employment background checks will be told you're 'ineligible for rehire'. Be smart (and professional!) in how you exit. Being emotionally reactive will only hurt YOU in the long run, not the company.
Sometimes it is not up to you to work harder. @1wtq+1nYFxkvP.
