I just got RIF'd this morning. My boss, in tears (genuinely), told me 20 minutes ago.
Oh well, guess all that hard work & loyalty means f#u-k all.... me for being the fool!

I was RIF'd on friday Jan 14th. I was in service assurance organization and managed commercial customers. I had been with the company since 2008 when it was Embarq. Every time we merged and changed names we lost another perk. Over the years they stopped company picnics, quarterly bday celebrations, Xmas bonuses, did away with pensions, and finally consession discounts on services for employees. There was nothing else they could take away except our paychecks. So they did. But I bet the suits at the top will still get their cushy bonuses to buy new boats with
I overheard a conversation that approximately 300 management from around the company were let go. No idea how accurate.
Where did the layoffs take place and who was effected?
Great company, great Leadership, great future! Classy folks! Just the sort of outfit I’d like to work for! Dream job!
STD is going around besides covid.
There is no cure for the disease.
Only cure is to leave.
I hope they never find cure for STD.

I am really surprised that we haven't seen more negative postings about Lumen on LinkedIn.... I recall one person in MN posted against Beth Arden who was touting what a wonderful place to work; the person posted similar to "yeah, only if you want to work for a company who fires employees when they have ovarian cancer and are away for treatments! See you in court!!!!".... that post lasted about 3 days before it disappeared
and so it begins just like every year on Jan 16 th , thank Mr CEO may you rot !
I can assure you this is not click bait.... I was the oldest person on my team, but 10+ years, and I was the first out the door!
Hard to figure out if some of the post are click bait!
I know of two managers let go.more to come.
My 2 cents, know of a green manager in St. Paul and green supervisor in Wake Forest, unknown what package they were offered.
Be helpful and state your locations so the rest of us have an idea of when we will get screwed
15% of the company layed off today.
Lost 1/4 of the people in my group
300 + layoffs I heard all management tiltle with or without direct reports no Vspp package is 2 weeks pay for every year of service capped at 30 weeks total so far I have heard of folks on the east coast Iowa Minnesota Colorado
To the original Poster: I do feel the pain for any person that loses their job and would never wish this scenario upon anyone!
Quick question, not looking for specifics, did you ever receive a “Pay for Performance” raise or bonus out of that leadership?
Many well wishes to all!
Now everyone will realize WHY that management tree sprouted so much the last few years! Many were/are training their replacements and we do very much appreciate your continued efforts going forward!! Huhmmm…remember all the type-writer personnel jokes!?!?! Typical management…brainwashed into thinking their safe to get what they need out of them. At the least, the field minions realized what was going on and made appropriate “adjustments” while being shown the door!
Non-field positions are the target this time. VSPP offered in Iowa….low/middle management will be the targets this round!
Do you know how many were RIFed at your location?
How I was RIF'd? My boss called me... Call lasted all of 3 mins. "You're no longer needed. This is part of a massive lay-off effort!"
2 weeks severance for every complete year of service
I am in a non-field role (sorry, I don't want to put too much identifying information here).
I'm on the East coast
You didn't tell us how you were RIF'D.
Let's hear some details.
Was it a VSPP or just layoff?
Where you located and your title?
