Hello everyone I have a question...
I’ve been with the company for almost 10 years, I recently stepped down from a team lead position to a member specialist. My question is was I suppose to get a 2 pay cut because I stepped down? I do some many years of experience I know how to do everything.

I get so tired of 20 year plus associates bi-----g about being topped out, and new people making more starting out than they did 20 years ago. Face it you cant live on what you could 20 years ago. Also 20 years ago it was possible to get a good raise if you worked hard. Now its 2% no matter what. Unless you live to your 200's you will never top out.
If anyone steps down to a lower paying position you take a percentage drop. So not a full drop to the pay of that area. It's a percentage drop. So you will still make more than most in that area, depending on any work credits someone else may have.
Yes you loose money .
@1tni+1bcJTHGH, how are you & your family living worry free on 20 hours a week?
I stepped down after 8 years and even though I lost pay it was the best decision I have ever made. I even went from full time to part time and even though I only get 20 hours a week I have my life back without stressing about work. I changed my availability so I work the hours I want have the days off I want and get 20 hours. So much happier! Good luck!! Money is not every thing family life is everything!
I stepped down over a year ago. Went from 18 to 16 something. A month later was upped to 16.57 due to yearly raise. After taxes, the difference in paychecks was barely noticeable. Best decision ever.
@1wnh+1bcJTHGH You don't have to do anything unless it's in your job description. Management will use you for your knowledge, I know this from experience. My position was eliminated and I lost over $2 per hour, and still I was asked to do the same job at the lower pay for years.
Of course you should get less pay. Why should you have less responsibility and make $2 more than your new peers? Do you also think a manager that actually knows everything should be able to also step down and keep their pay? Uh no. To commenters saying “only do new job,” that’s not how it works-you do what is asked of you.
Yes you stepped down so you lose money. You could even make less than other people in same spot.
You shouldn’t never step down. You earn your position as a Lead! Good luck now they own your a-s! You will be used everywhere!!!
Don't let your manager or team lead steal all that knowledge you have. You are getting paid less, don't be used. Only do what your new job requires, nothing more.
whew boy .. ten years ! twenty something year people are topped out in many cases. We have to watch new people getting paid what took us 20 years to earn. We literally have done everything in the club and could run it by ourselves yet we get no rewards for continued service... I have been here ten years .. boo hoo...wwaaaaaa.... hahahahahahaha
Yup, key is you stepped down. Lower level employee, lower pay.
