Some of the Tesla fanatics are Tweeting that LE can take over as Tesla CEO, sparing Elon to be himself without SEC problems.

Uh, good luck with that.

It's probably about time for him to trade in his arm candy for a younger model. How old is the current one...about 27?

LE is a Narcissistic Egomaniac! That’s all there is to it!

Not just the rich tycoons. There are literally millions of smaller businesses that are totally controlled by the founder, who only wants to do things his way, the way he has always done it, and a pox on anyone who tries to interfere. Their egos are totally wrapped up in their “creation”, and will take the company to the brink following their path. The only difference is that Larry has a board to report to, although probably a rubber stamp.

Makes you wonder why so many tycoons stick with their businesses until the bitter end. It seems that the adage of "no one on their deathbed will wish they spent more time at the office" doesn't apply to most of them.

The man is totally detached from reality and lacks any understanding of what customers are thinking and doing and why. Totally unfit to be leading a software company in this day and age. Lazy, self indulgent, no capacity for learning, nobody to challenge his thinking, completely out to lunch. His lousy hiring decisions and the demise of oracle are the proof. The world has passed you by and left you behind LE!

He just bought another mansion in Rhode Island on the Millionaire’s Row in Newport. His second. I’ve never met the man, but my impression is that he is selfish and still trying to get beyond his upbringing. He needs intensive therapy.

There is a May 2012 interview where he talks about "cloud" starting around 8 minutes in. http://allthingsd.com/20120621/larry-ellison-tells-it-like-it-is-the-full-d10-interview-video/

What he says sounds logical and is not wrong. But it is very linear and evolutionary. No one apparently has been able to get him to look at Oracle's business and future outside that mental framework.

I think it is not age, assuming he is healthy without cognitive issues. It is not having people he respects who successfully challenge his thinking. Who question him. Who make him stretch his models beyond his status quo. That is a pitfall of being rich beyond belief, hiring people to be your tennis friends, sailing friends, subordinates...they do not speak truth to your money. They do not stimulate growth. You coast without realizing it.

#Sad.
