Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Layoffs next Thursday: BBRC (Advisory, Quality, Program Teams)

Layoffs next Thursday: BBRC (Advisory, Quality, Program Teams).

Anywhere from 15-20% trimming. Heavily targeted around leads in program teams, quality org, and advisory teams.

I haven’t posted in about a year as I haven’t had reliable information. This is 90-95% reliable.

It was hard to follow your post however, I read it a couple times and I get it now and totally agree 100%. I quit usaa after 15yrs there in the mortgage department. Your right on everything you said. It's not just joe's replacement it was the leadership under him running it in the ground. Leadership hiring their friends from outside usaa into leadership and no way to transfer to a different leader with member ethical motivation decision mindset decision. It's all political and the bonus money leadership receives driven. I feel terrible for the members who served our country deserves better... shame on USAA.
After leaving I no longer have health issues caused by the leadership of this company.

Spent 10yrs at usaa in the bank. The members have t been a part of anyone's mind since the retirement of Joe Robles, his replacement and the hiring of outside leadership instead of promotions within not to mention those outside leadership were friends with one another that look the other way when you would witness a manager bully a peer. Reporting the abuse of any kind to hr was ignored and the person reporting it would all the sudden go on "probation with unlimited extensions of probation but with a different reason" I witnessed those people on unlimited time probation get forced into doing majority of the unethical and against occ guidelines processes and approvals of home loans so as a forced request from the bully manager into approving a loan just to keep their job. OCC regulators should look into complaints to hr about managers and speak with those that reported manager to hr on why. Members are getting sc--wed over left and right. I couldn't stay to watch the injustice against them or my bullied peers.

I am under 40 and was just diagnosed with invasive cancer. My health fell off a cliff working for USAA. The bullying and abuse was so severe, I would be throwing up stomach acid before work in the morning, knowing I'd have to spend the day "virtually" with people who treated me with complete contempt and disdain, ripping my work to shreds.
Example: "you didn't support your population of 12 for an annual control that occurs monthly".
Well we're not on fu--ing Saturn, Debbie, there are 12 months in a year.
I don't know that my cancer was caused by USAA but I do know I spent my last year on Earth as a cancer free human in a place that treated me worse than garbage.

Yep me too, kicking back reading my severance. Good luck to those left to keep it all going. I wish each of them the best, it is not easy.

Not Thursday, but was today. Heard that final number was 200, but not confirmed. Sitting back reading my severance while watching the the remaining team try to keep the wheels from falling off as they realize they don’t really know what all was being done. Good luck!

"I was told it was supposed to be today but with RCSA failings they are accelerating layoff plans."

What does this mean - as in 200 layoffs supposed to happen Thursday April 4, but they are waiting a week so they can layoff 200 more & do it in a batch of 400?

Is kyc going to be impacted? We are literally out of work and they’re making up BS alerts just to give us something to do.

It sounds as though from the comments above that it will be primarily Jen Ds org, or will it be other orgs within the bank too?

I left USAA but one of the things I really do miss is the gallows humor. ‘The leaders who drove this bus into a ditch’ is so dead on. It felt exactly like I was riding in an unmanned school bus hurtling along, looking around to see if anyone else was concerned.

Some think the cuts will be deeper. Some think a tad less. Most agree BRCA Leads are primarily being let go.

When your risk organization is the size of a contact center…

And these “risk professionals” standing around looking confused.

This has nothing to do with RCSA. This is about expense management. A 900+ person organization with salaries exceeding $180M / year, in a bank this small, with so few products. It’s just math.

Take the severance and apply to the same job at higher salaries in 6-9 months.

Hopefully they axe the executives who drove this bus into the ditch and the 2nd line who paved the way and ignored all of the escaltions.
