It turned out that Nov 6 was just another Monday. Those who have been around for a while should know that Chevron doesn’t like to give fair warning. They prefer to pull the rug from under you without advance notice. Count more on getting any bad news on a Friday afternoon just prior to catching your vanpool.
The exact date was wrong but same week then mgmt sent that weird postponement. Related to CTC and centralizing a lot of functions. Endless reporgs
If you bought XOM stock because you thought they were buying Chevron then you have no idea how the stock market works.
What! I already bought all that Exxon stock thinking they were going to buy us!!!!
We learned what we already knew. This board is full of trolls.
Fake News
Did anyone come out as it was expected? I've been on pins and needles waiting!
So November 6th arrived, so what did we learn ????
How about CHESS? By the way, that sounds like toilet in Italian, which my wife found hysterically funny.
“They will announce the name of the newly merged company and the new logo. Any guesses? Apparently John Hess stipulated this along with a perpetual seat on the board for himself and any heirs.”
I know @4mmy. Apart from the endless acronyms, Chevron management likes to speak in code (sometimes in tongues). That’s because many in management can’t make up their minds or dictate an executive decision. It all comes down to what the top 1 or 2 at the top decide to do. Christ, our fortunes may be solely contingent on what they ate for breakfast. One sudden bowel movement and…. well, you guessed it. Flushhhhhh.
It will be the same old slop they tell us after every acquisition. There are overlapping responsibilities and redundancies that need to be addressed to increase the efficiency of the organization. At this time, we don't anticipate any changes to the head count which is code for they just haven't figured out how many and who yet. In the end, we'll have more Chiefs than Indians.
ExxChevTexUnoHessOn. Cause Exxon is watching Chevron stock and getting ready for a Tiger pounce.
Announcement of a reorganization and notice of eminent layoffs after the HESS acquisition is officially completed. These are required actions under US anti trust law that is necessary ahead of and executed on shortly after the acquisition. The size or scale of the impeding actions will be the real news, so standby.
Hessracon!
@1vnz, Are you referring to what it has done to the company in the 80's 90's, 00's or more recently, like layoff's are some kind of a new thing? Just wondering.
How about CVTexEs?
They will announce the name of the newly merged company and the new logo. Any guesses? Apparently John Hess stipulated this along with a perpetual seat on the board for himself and any heirs.
Nov 6. They announce the Hess truck will now be known as the ChevEss truck.
Tequila lime - ranch?
They will announce a new flavor of chicken nuggets in the cafeteria
This board has become one nonstop troll fest. There is no major announcement planned for Nov 6.
I have heard rumors that this annowncement is going to be Big. As in Huge. Get ready everyone...
I'm thinking it's going to be a coming out announcement. This is exciting!
They will announce that there is nothing to announce. Which means there will be a major reorganization and layoffs associated with the Hess acquisition.
Just in time for thanksgiving!
Exxon to buy Chevron in a stock-swap only trade. Big golden parachutes for everyone psg 50 and above and mass layoffs by Christmas for everyone else.
I am hoping MW will lay himself off so hopefully the layoff nightmare that everyone is constantly fearing will be done here. Maybe he will go to layoffs anonymous to take care of the issues.
MW cannot be thinking more layoffs after what it's done to the company since Transformation. I know he loves that lever but it would Tank the company with the mass exodus of talent. Most people can't take this anymore.
Where is this news coming from? Is this just rumor?
Bloomberg: "Workers in the US are getting record-breaking wage hikes this year thanks to strategic strikes and stunning contract wins.
The result is a boost in middle-income wages and a shift in the balance of power between companies and their employees."
I expect a large CIP figure and more good news all around.
I fear RM mind control over us all. Voodoo witching on Nov 6. Do not look directly into the screen. No joke.
Where was anything about the 6th mentioned?
The release of MW and RM latest release transformation II
Public floggings to improve CES scores
RM had chosen to retire, effective jan 1, 2024
MW just wants to advise everyone of the start of the latest version of the hunger games.
Percentage to be laid off during 2nd quarter of 2024.
Announcement timing just to ensure rank and file have a wonder holiday season.
