Are Vatican trips a nominal gift???

I guess since VPs are accepting trips to the Vatican from state government chamber of commerce, we can now start taking gift cards and other gifts from vendors ourselves? Or do the executives consider it a nominal gift for themselves because of their million dollar bonuses and high salaries???

derp,
Bless your heart. Reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit. The Vatican didn’t give the trip to the VP. The Chamber of Commerce in KY provided the trip. They are a government agency. This is unethical and against their state laws. It is also against company policy.

It is like a circle jerk of corporate bootlickers on this forum. Now go back to your HR role and be useless like the unethical executives that you serve.

The last I looked the Vatican isn't a US government agency. Are you suggesting you know the vatican's laws? As far as policy goes... Policy isn't law. I thought that was common knowledge. So, tell me how the 'handbook' constitutes me doing something illegal?

Its like a circle jerk of opinions on this forum.

@Poopy. It is clearly written in the Working with Integrity policy that taking gifts not considered nominal is against company policy. It is also clearly written that you can’t take cash, gift cards, or luxury items or trips. In addition, there are laws that say government agencies can’t give extravagant gifts to companies and that those employees can’t except them.

You might want to read up on that Working with Integrity policy.

@1vjn+1j8WGA18 The Vatican and vacation are not the same word. Your comprehension skills are atrocious for a person that works in HR and obviously an executive boot li---r.

Honestly - why would this matter? This is a difference between business policy and law, or? Is it illegal for a privately owned company to accept gifts from anyone?? I am certainly not beholden to any laws prohibiting me from accepting gifts from Vendors. I'm at will employed - there is no contact. Now WS might fire me over it if someone got butthurt.
Laws of gifts and such are related to US GOV employees as far as I know.

Curious to hear if and how I am wrong.

I think you are the only one confused by what is being said. Does this sound right " accepting trips to the VACATION from state... chamber of commerce... ". It doesn't, or?

@1vjn+1j8WGA18 I mean a government agency paying for a trip to see the Vatican. It is a city surrounded by Rome, Italy. The Pope is not a city. Nevertheless, it would still be a conflict of interest.

Do you mean "vacation" trips or is a trip to visit the pope?

No, this is at the top of the list for conflict of interest. Where's the whistle blower hotline?

Just remember to "lead by example"
