Looks like the rumors were true, bunch of people in CZ NetSuite are getting a Business update meeting on Monday. Though the number of affected people seems to be relatively low.
Stay strong and make the best of it.

@2ed
There are mandatory 2 months leave notice.
If no other agreement is arranged between me and the employer, I must stay for 2 months after informing the employer I wish to end my employment.
That's given by law and I believe is a big difference from the US.
Therefore, one typically stays with the current employer for 2 months, while having signed the contract with a new employer, with start date being 2 months from the moment of resignation.
At least in Czech Republic :)
@2ed He might have a contract. It is common in Europe for IC's to get contracts. Nonetheless, I see your point: no need to show your cards until you must,
You are going to resign on Monday, but your new job doesn't start until January 5th?
That might not be the best thing to do in this job climate. If I were you, I wouldn't resign until just before I took the other job. How do you know the new job won't evaporate before you get to it. In this job climate, things are very uncertain. A company might change the offer or get rid of it entirely in that 2 months in between.
Has anyone ever heard of a case where a dismissed employee could swap their termination with someone who wasn’t fired?
@ty depends if you sign agreement or not.
On both cases, you get 2 months notice + 1 month garden leave extra.
Then w/o agreement you get severance by law (1 - 3 months)
With agreement you get severance 2 - 12 on the lenght of employment but for 12 you need 30+ years.
@aw got fired on standard 1on1 zoom. With HR person attending.
@1zs
I actually secured a new job already.
I am going to hand over the official letter of resignation to my manager @ Oracle next Monday :)
January 5th 2026 is the start date @ my new job.
One could say I should be wise and wait for the severance pay offer. But this opportunity came out of nowhere. The new employer actually reached out to me, loving my experience and career track. They wanted me. And offered ~45% monthly salary increase comparing to my Oracle salary, plus bonus scheme.
This was a sign the conclusion I came to was the right one ;)
I'm so much looking forward to the change and a new beginning!
For the person who is "moving away" from Oracle, here is a tip for you:
Any chance you get, be critical of AI. If you have an avenue to unfavorably critique Redwood, be sure to report everything inconsistent that is observed. There will be numerous opportunities, trust in that.
If you don't enter feedback about AI in a tool (or even if you do), also email your manager and others about your concerns.
If you follow these suggestions, you may find yourself out the door rather quickly :-)
Last week, a colleague in DevOps (Java Platform) was laid off after 5 years with Oracle. His responsibilities are being transitioned to the team in Morocco.
Severance details: 3 months of garden leave + 7 months of salary continuation. No unvested RSUs (he no longer had RSU).
@1v3
Was the severance pay great for you too? Pls share the details.
@1v8 Testing.
@1v3 role ?
Got fired today, OCI team. HR said they will finish this re-org this week, ~250 people in total.
I heard through the grapevine that some former colleagues in CZ will be joining me in the unemployment line. I wish them, and all those laid off this year, good fortune in their search for new employment.
It probably depends on the role and dept since the numbers I’m seeing here are different from what I got. There are over 3 months of garden leave plus way over the mandatory number of severance payments based on tenure. Some long term employees will walk away with a whole year covered, but the deal was pretty good even for less tenured people. I personally missed out on RSUs vesting which su-ks but many people will still get theirs as well.
@tx I have heard that the severance was based on the lenght of employment. 0-5 years, 5-10, 10+ probably? And it was at least 10 months in some cases.
Also, you might be entitled to 3 months, but you are not entitled to the 2 months of garden leave.
Why do you consider severance packages generous? You are entitled to 5 salaries (2+3) by law.
@t7 just a fyi, they don’t deactivate slack immediately in CZ so the numbers will be delayed.
@q6 lot of them, not all of them. I still stay and I know at least ten others.
@rt Yesterday it was 58 people from NetSuite Czech Republic (according to Slack channel members), but it should be done in different departments during the whole week
@rt I think that O has kept a very tight lid on this RIF. All I can say I hope all goes well for you.
Can anyone confirm if we in CZ going to be impacted around 200 people?
@kr this was correct in terms of what 1h business update means and also in terms of the severance package being pretty good. just leaving it here for anyone who might need the reassurance.
@pp It wasn't that long ago that Netsuite was the new bright and shiny thing. Now it's "legacy". Funny how those legacy lines of business generate profit and help pay the bills. Oh well, not my problem anymore!
Looks like all the tech writters are gone after today.
Ok, colleague of mine from Brno (Senior Product Manager) got laid off today after 7 yrs @ NetSuite. Got 4 months salary package.
Yeah makes sense but getting laid off after 10+ years with loads of stock and money sounds amazing. After not even a year, not so much.
@p2 Absolutely agree. I moved from being scared to hoping I get selected. To be able to relax for a bit, think about my next career, study for it, try something new.
I actually wish I was among the "chosen ones" and was let go with couple of months severance pay :D I had enough of this ... after almost 12 years, I'm moving away from Oracle anyways.
@kp If it's a longer meeting that may indicate that it could be the final notification and so after the manager/director/VP reads the script HR will then take over and explain the severance package and place you in a gardening leave.
This is in contrast to other countries where there are more hoops and so the initial meeting is only to read you the script and the final notification will come at a later date.
I've seen 1h meetings: some foreword by the manager, followed by a presentation from HR.
To be honest, the severance was quite generous (several months worth of pay, based on tenure).
I got a business update scheduled with a VP but it’s one hour long. Thought they were supposed to be 30 mins or less. Any insight? Probably still a layoff but it’s strange!
Any idea of which teams are going to be affected at least in Prague?
I've heard (from a solid source) that these layoffs are going to continue for several days across multiple teams. Our is scheduled to later this week.
@jq Sorry to hear that. Hopefully the severance is ample and the job market is good where you are.
Sorry to hear that.. Any news on how many affected and which roles? They are pretty good at keeping it quite
Well, I got 1:1 in unusual time :) Then it took less than 30 mins
Netsuite will be impacted - product, engineering, etc in Brno
I've seen some Business Update meeting for FND ESS for Monday.
