this is good news. congress said get the f-out-the-west-coast. Both sides say get the f-out-the-west-coast. Nothing of any value should remain there. If people don't listen to congress...you know what will come next....the cia....then after that is the global order...get the f-out-the-west-coast asap.

It is not 'new' news about jobs moving to OP. The Shared Service Center is open in OP. In In late Spring 2024 or early Summer 2024 FinOps designated approximately 150 positions to be moved to OP. I heard roles moved out of Atlanta to OP too but didn't get clarity on the impacted business units.

I was told Dallas is approximately 1.0 on a salary/comp scale, OP is 0.85, and Bellevue is 1.1. That means OP is approximately 25% cheaper to staff for many of the individual-contributor roles.

There are a lot of open desks in OP. So don't be surprised with the shift. Have a plan B for yourself.

@1rpz+1vFSdE7l, as an extremely successful company, T-Mobile has been making money for a lot of folks; employees, vendors, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, shareholders, bond holders, banks, IRS, investors, cities, towns, counties, state and federal governments, utilities, hotel and travel, insurance, and many more. T-Mobile has many ”stakeholders”.

But to your main point, yes, the majority shareholder and parent company, Deutsche Telekom, has enjoyed a very lucrative return on their June 2001 $35 Billion investment. As per DT’s June 2024 Form 4 Filing, they hold 670,278,284 shares; $165,022,513,521 at todays close. On December 12th, DT, as well as ALL shareholders, will get a nice dividend. When T-Mobile wins, everybody wins! To paraphrase what someone once said, “there will be so much winning, you will be tired of winning!”

@1umo+1vFSdE7l, great point. Moving to KS would provide a ”yuge” savings in labor costs. KS is a ”right to work” state. According to a March 2024 U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report, for a private industry employer, with more than 1,000 employees, the average weekly wage in Kansas is $1,590. For Washington, the average weekly wage is $3,479.

Why all the downvotes on common sense posts. "geographic center of US" and "40% lower payroll costs" these two things will improve service to our employees and customers while lowering cost to make more money for shareholders. This is a win-win. Plus the chiefs are there! Mahomes is so hot! sizzle my fo shizzle.

I'm also hearing this. There's too much untapped Top Talent in Kansas willing and grateful to work for 40% less than those greedy Seattleites.

I also recently heard in a planning meeting that all 'back office' jobs like accounting, purchasing, hr recruiting and like as that will be centralized in Kansas as Overland Park is about as close to the geographic center of the US as you can get. Centrally located to better service our national footprint.

All you legacy T-Mobilers. You were told 5 years ago when the merger was done that Jobs would move from Bellevue to Overland Park (Cost of living is 37% higher in Bellevue than it is in OP). T-Mobile's commitment to the Newport office complex only runs thru 2030. Expect the (bowel) movement to continue.
