Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Mid July will be ground zero all around

That's the talk going around. Multiple areas. Multiple departments. Multiple levels from grunts on up. All I have.

Remote employees are not safe either. If you are based in US you are fair game. Rifs are not only to claims. All business units will be affected. No area is safe.

I believe that Home Office (Northbrook) is a major target due to the desire to relinquish that land to developers.

@1tqe+1bi1pdYs That may be the case but that doesn’t mean anything.

I'm not as worried as last year. If I get laid off this year, the pandemic is pretty much over and lots of jobs hiring so I'll go somewhere else. Last year was scary because uncertainty, bad economy, pandemic, we all are good

I have no idea if this is true or not but I love the people who respond to these types of post with statements that Allstate won't be laying off anyone in their department because their department is understaffed or because they are still hiring people for their department.

To all those folks-what is being stated is that Allstate plans to replace a large number of US employees with employees in India. Therefore, you are not safe just because your department is understaffed or they are still hiring people.

Think of the strategy here folks. Hire new people to make it look good for those remaining to fight the good fight… with all this work and then LAY OFF the old and expensive. THEN move the work to India, AI, and self service. Simple. That’s what they are doing and have been doing for several years now. They moved many jobs to TX AZ FL but that’s not cheap enough. Bye bye Allstate of the states. Hello Pune

Hey folks, please cut the op some slack. He/she deserves credit for sharing information that most of us find valuable.
