26% of our workforce are contingent workers. No AIP or stock, so huge savings for the company. I'd love to know what it was before GB. Wonder if this contributes to her 250% bonus....

Elon’s of the world want their cake and eat it to. Couldn’t start a Tesla, spacex, etc in any other country while becoming a celebrity. Then want to fire what got you where you are. 2025 will be my weening off tech year, buying a gas guzzler and spending more time outside.

@1wmr+1wetOoqN - absolutely about work quality and pay of Indians being used by American companies. There is a false narrative being planted that companies cannot find American workers and that we don’t want to work. There is another false narrative that talent is equal. C-Suite’s are making record profits by extracting wealth from American communities and distributing to themselves and Non American entities that cut American wages while allowing corruption to take place unchecked. I have plenty of Indian friends, but this is about what kind of Country we want to live in. I for one do not want to live in a country fueled by Gaslighting. These policies don’t support the American dream, only the American billionaire.

@1tpq+1wetOoqN. I think this conversation is not about folks from India or their work quality. This conversation is about a new president that may or may not go after the H1B program if he can figure out the differnce between H1B and H2B. The new president is all over the place on this issue. Personally, I have close friends who are H1B.

Wondering why H1Bs are to be blamed here. Why would executives across the industry depend on foreign labor? There could be one or two rotten apples but to say that everyone is offshoring work or getting H1B won't pass any scrutiny. Wouldn't they choose to hire more of US workers if they were available and willing to work? Wouldn't they prefer to earn millions in bonuses and stock options if they realize the quality delivered by US workers would result in company prospering and stock price skyrocketing? Are they really so stupid? And if so how could this be so widespread that everyone seems to be doing it. Time to introspect. Dont' you think that these Indians are equally talented and hard-working as US employees?? Or may be the little slippage in quality is compensated by a) at least 30% drop in the salaries they command or b) the extra hours they put in. Come on guys, I'm sure you have worked with H1B employees, speak from your heart and do some introspection.

They will just find away around any regulations. Just like they created LEGATO. Americans need to start demanding that there info stays onshore until that happens more companies will continue to offshore work.

"The unemployment rate for recent college graduates in Information Systems has spiked to 11.7 percent, while the rates for majors in Computer Science and Mathematics are 7.8 percent and 6.0 percent, respectively."

H-1B is only reason that American STEM workers aren’t earning $500k+/yr.

If STEM wages were subject to free market forces, they would immediately skyrocket, and any ‘shortage’ would be quickly addressed by a flood of new STEM students and workers.

Here's an H1B visa stat for you:

Last year, the top 30 H-1B visa employers laid off 84,556 people at the same time as they sought 34,414 new H1-B foreign workers. This includes firms such as
Elon Musk's Tesla.
