Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

Quiet layoffs stressing me out

I'm really exhausted. I try to do my best but my manager is never satisfied, so I'm constantly worried whether I will succeed and how long I will get to keep this job. Everything happens behind smoke and mirrors. Anyone else whom quiet layoffs make more anxious than announced layoffs would?

@1oxkk+1o07aVfM location or division are irrelevant. The toxic, lazy and d-mb culture permeates throughout the entire organization.

MetLife has 40,000+ employees. Hard to know what everyone is talking about without knowing what division they are in (or if in a call center, or in the NYC office, etc).

MetLife isn’t worth the stress… if and when you guys leave… you’ll realize that it wa so ridiculous that you accepted your current work environment for sooo long…

@ 1tfo+1o07aVfM I have had team members laid off after Thanksgiving - last day was 12/31. It happens, it’s happened.

Don't worry, there is a highly compensated AVP in NYC who's sole responsibility in the office is to (wo)man volunteer information tables every week outside the cafeteria. DEI in action.

Any insight into Marketing layoffs after the “evolution” is finished and Op model completed?

I kind of wish they would do it like Farmers and rip the bandage off. No need to string us along.

Yeah, more continue to "retire" but sadly not the ones that really should.

@1tfo+1o07aVfM Wouldn't be the first time we've laid people off during the holiday season.

Not worth it. Find another job. Join the legions who have exited.

Could be.

We're almost 1/2 way through Q3, and it's bad form to layoff after Thanksgiving, so ...

Is this company worth all of the stress and aggravation you are experiencing? That's the real question to ask yourself. This place is full of inept managers that employees are subjected to. Those are the real pebbles and boulders the company continues to ignore. Look elsewhere for peace of mind.
