@1t4 anyone find her LinkedIn picture offensive?
@1rt at Total, we’re not losing our best player…
@1rt she’s replacing AD, basically. Kind of.
KM reorganized exploration by regions. So there’s not GNV, etc. she’s basically taking on the scope of AD as well as Hans
Gotta love EG's caricature and that urban cowboy picture on LinkedIn. I'd say vanity is one of her strong suits...
Who is she replacing? Friends at Total don't have many good things to say about her.
Check LinkedIn. EG already posted and many chevron people already on there su-king up.
EG is her name
@wh confirmed by friend from TTE
Any idea who the incoming big wigs will be? A senior female leader from TTE is leaving, announced very recently.
@kd+1: "The new boss has been given instructions to fix Exploration and he only has a couple years to deliver impact discoveries..." Not going to happen with current exploration lease inventory. GOA leases look like Dollar Tree clearance bin material. Mexico and Brazil are pipe-dreams of a decade ago, and nothing is going to happen in the Middle East for a while.
@t8 EG from TOTE is KM’s replacement.
AD and GL must be ecstatic.
Wait - did the "Townhall" actually happen?
@ke any ideas who the cronies are yet?
Announced the reorg on the first day of Liz retirement. Not sure it is saving her face or not.
Not sure I trust a word KMcL says. Two weeks ago the org was best in class, now it is not. The technical talent had gaps, now we have the right talent, just not for leadership succession. No layoffs? Just waiting for the Total cronies to arrive to fill those empty leadership roles. Here comes the new boss, same as the old boss.
The new boss has been given instructions to fix Exploration and he only has a couple years to deliver impact discoveries. He obviously can't do it with the current people or structure so he is moving fast to fix it.
@jm can we get rid of MC and the useless implementation team, now that the design is different?
They said there is no headcount reduction, just more regional focus [3 regions and directors for each region]. Funny they can do all these changes in matter of months after almost 2 years planning and execution of a reorg, that shows how dysfunctional and slow they are in general.
@jf Good lord! We JUST did a massive reorg. You mentioned this would affect geo types in other BUs. Was there mention of reducing geologist headcount in the near future?
@jc Employees in Exploration notified in Late March. Selections in April and will be ‘closed’ not open (no one applies for jobs). Go live June 1. 2 external hires for big wig positions, already finalized
@hr When is this to happen? I'm in S&T. Another reorg so soon is very destabilizing.
@ac+1: yes. New boss has discovered how Liz was running a crony operation with zero accountability (and zero success). Exploration to be downsized and CTC to put emphasis on Permian and production elsewhere, BUs with more engineers and AI-wizards, fewer geo-types.
If your going to fire half of exploration, at least make sure the townhall technology works.
Key message- we’ve decided the future is to buy into NOJVs instead of doing our own exploration.
@ac how do you replace in the new lean organization? You mean reshuffle and reprioritize? Same sh-t different day?
I R A N
Re-org under the new Chief. Many ineffectual leaders will be replaced. Hold on to your hat.
