Are they doing away with block scheduling?

of all the things that are hateable at sams block scheduling is not one of them. In fact before I left it was one thing I loved. Sames days every week. Same time every day. Planning ahead was much easier. Managers unable to reschedule you at a moments notice. Now its harder for management to we-ponize schedules. To use your schedule to punish you.
Block scheduling is working ? I almost sp-t out my coffee laughing at this comment. Maybe in your club where you are fully staffed but where I work the block scheduling is not done correctly and we are not staffed where we should be. pm is not doing their part so here is AM stocking almost everything . They should bring back night crew because most Sam's can not run on this so called block scheduling that is working . Good joke though!
@1szb+1nIU5ZBi, notice the part that said, "if you can't get an appointment on one of your off days." which is difficult to do these days.
there was a story on the news the recently that said that the average wait time to see a doctor is about a month.
have you had to have your car repaired lately? if not, count your blessings.
the wait times to have a technician look at it are long too.
people are having to take things when they are open. you have to take what you can get. so it's likely, you'll have to burn pto for those things, unless you're lucky enough to get in on one of your days off.
scheduling should be left up to club management. each club is different. so are the associates. club management knows the people. a computer programmed schedule doesn't.
Not sure why you would have to burn pto for an appointment. Most block schedules are either 4am-12:30pm or 3pm-11:30 pm. Which would allow you to make appointments either after or before your shift depending on what time you work. Block scheduling is working so I don’t see them changing it.
block scheduling isn't going away. although it should.
this is a way home office forces people to use their pto for doctor's appointments and things that you have to take when you can get them. no more asking off for an appointment. you have to burn pto if you can't get an appointment on one of your off days.
this is also a way that corporate has a hand in your life outside of work. they're controlling when you can do things.
the power mongers in bentonville want control over you at & away from work.
block scheduling hurts departments during busy holiday times. if one of your strongest people are scheduled off on sunday & monday. then july 4th falls on a tuesday, it's going to be even more of a struggle.
I hope not. I love knowing what days I have weeks/months out. I can plan things do much better. The other way where it was different every week was awful. Close/open shifts are the worst.
I hope not. I love never getting a weekend off unless I use PTO. Part timers deserve weekends off more then us full timers anyway. 🙃
