Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Balancing RTO and the security threat

So now based on the security threat they are moving the all hands and other large meetings are being converted to Virtual. So I guess that means remote collaboration is now OK. But in any case still bring your self to an office with a big insurance company logo on the side of it, it is OK, we are adding more site security with flashlights and hi-viz vests have you protected

RE: Security threat? The guy’s been caught and he ki-led a ceo not any of us.
The current concern is copycats. For the large offices - In addition to adding more security they may be separating the employee and visitor areas and checking IDs closer to the building entrances instead of each floor.

I don't expect someone to come after us all but it made me uncomfortable enough to check my social media and remove any references to where I work.

Of course not, but most all Cigna cites are marked as Cigna. All someone would have to do is wait for you to walk out, or maybe even see your badge. The point is who knows, and why isn't employee safety the most important thing?

Also FYI, folks in NYC office were asked to WFH for next 2 weeks following the incident.

Is anyone actually scared or just wanting an excuse to WAH? No one is going to know you work for Cigna when you're walking down the street.

Bonus, only certain sites are getting security enhancements. It’s not being done across the board.

For them not to pause RTO until at least end of year because of this climate is just disgusting. Non CEOs are scared in this environment, too. Who knows what may happen next? Someone with bad intentions may not care which Cigna employees they hurt to make their point.

They're just looking out for the execs, not us plebes. Security measures are meant to keep them safe. We're just handy little meat shields to have around, and if it makes us uncomfortable, we can quit with no severance. Even better!

so are they going to add metal detectors at the entry points now or are non-CEO worker bees expendable? those of us unlucky enough to be forced into an office 3x's a week, we're not considered at risk from an angry RTO-hating employee flipping out i suppose? with all the lay offs every month, the odds of someone becoming unhinged from all the stress and inequity seems higher than i'd like. enough of this ridiculous RTO bologna! i'm driving in just to sit in an empty building, then get onto video calls with all my w@h team mates and colleagues. how is this fair? how is this any sort of benefit to the company? just stupid.

You mean they are trying to avoid a Jason Bourne/Deep Dream gathering scenario

What’s the security threat? Also, I wonder if Cigna is paying for Cordani person security detail. They gotta deny more claims to make up for it.

If Cordani is working from home, so am I.
