I was laid off in 2016 and they paid out 2weeks for every year of service. How is it this year? :)

When do you receive your severance check each month with Schlumberger ?
The last poster has no clue. You are a work at will employe. They owe you nothing. Severance is to keep you quite and from litigation. Take the package an move on. I did.
Pay attention people. I have seen several cases of people not getting their full credited severance. I know personally people that worked longer than I did that got less money. Don't care what the Employee Handbook says. Also, if it's a US Employee's Handbook versus the Global Employee's Handbook, it's possible it's different. I didn't have any issues but vacation pay, PIP, years of service, CHECK THE MATH!!!!!!! Also, if it doesn't add up, get a lawyer involved to get what you deserved along with labor and burden or pain and suffering. I forgot which one. DO NOT SELL YOURSELF SHORT!!!!!! Also, if you do not agree with the amount published on the disclaimer you have to sign in order to get your money when they are actually laying you off, do not sign it.
Grunts get 1 week per year up to 13. Just saw a Supervisor let go 49 years got 13 weeks pay. F— Schlum
Exec severance, like their compensation, are very material to public companies so they're all public. Read the annual proxy
@1diq+15an2R4x, NDA's aren't a part of severance, with perhaps the exception of senior execs who need their silence bought (Kibsgaard and his followers who will be cut loose; Schorn, Popeau, etc). There is a NonCompete form that US employees sign when hired, but that's relatively toothless unless you have highly technical knowledge or deep sales/customer ties. HR definitely knows about this site and read comments, but most people post anonymously. So unless they put their name to it or offer up a lot of identifying details.... nobody's going to know who posted what. The chance of repurcussions for posting here is slim provided you're not doing it on a SLB device and/or during work hours. Good luck to all!
@1shx+15an2R4x The OP might also be HR, trying to smoke out anyone talking about the details of the severance package. It has a NDA.
Some of the posts and replies in this forum seem to be fishing for info (how do you know such and such, be specific, etc). I might be paranoid about it, but I know for a fact that HR for multiple segments watch here and actively dissuade current employees from reading it. Wouldn't surprise me if they are looking for someone breaking the NDA to try to recoup money the company lost via poor management.
Why do you care? Are you stirring the pot so people get po'ed if they find out their calculation may have been less than yours? For those of you still left @ SLB the US severance plan is in the back of the employee handbook. For those who are Exempt (not eligible for overtime) it's 2 weeks per year of service, and there is a cap. For those who are Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime) it's 1 week per year of service and there's a cap. Any time spent as a contractor doesn't count toward years of service. If you left the company and were rehired your service time for severance is based on your most recent rehire date.
I got 2 weeks per year of service - was laid off in April.
Its 1 week per year
depends on your contract. for IM, it's 1 month per year.
