Previously people were given a lot of additional benefits worth thousands on top of the cash severance. Not sure if they are still offering that.

Those previously terminated received 1 month/year of service to a max of 24 months.

What is the severance package now? Are they being secretive so they can screw over their targets one last time?

I’ve heard they offered better severance packages pre covid from people that were laid off previously. They are now offering the bare minimum.

Did anyone listen to the Regional Projects or Kearl announcements?

From someone who got laid off a year ago for no reason at all, in downstream calgary, my advice is to be positive about it. Being laid off was the best thing that happened to me. Not only did I benefit financially through the various things offered but I got a higher paying and better job within a month in a different more stable industry. I gained through the lay off and it was a blessing.

Make sense they hack emit by 1/3. Why the hell are project managers in Canada running projects in the US and the rest of the world, and fly them there often on biz class? They could hire people from Brazil, Argentina, or India to shout marching orders for a small fraction of the cost.

Lol, lots of talk about making ourselves competitive through digital initiatives and data science and automation and then they take a chainsaw to EMIT laying off 1/3. Of course the ones who stay will be the smooth talkers, PowerPoint jockeys, program managers, project managers, advisors, assorted sundry leaders of one kind or another, agile somethings or other and architects who will continue to do a brisk business meeting with each other, hiring consultants to tell us what to tell the peons (Kotter took us for millions) and posting to Yammer. Based on the stock price, investors stopped believing a long time ago, time for the employees to wake up and realize there is no plan.

5 people will be let go in Scona. Crazy considering how lean they are and they are literally keeping the whole company afloat... ridiculous

Well any idea how many were already laid of already or if people left voluntarily?
I think layoffs were primarily in MPT, then what percentage are being laid off vs what is the MPT head count?

200 announced today, but how many employees were quietly laid off in the past 4 months?
Their announcement today doesn’t reveal the full impact of layoffs there this year.

200 out of 6000 employees .

After all is said and done, 300 jobs lost is not the 15% people feared.

Great, no voluntary stuff. Old people making the most can milk another couple years vs having younger people around.

We can’t even announce massive announcements efficiently. Brad has to be the least dynamic speaker I’ve heard in my life.
