Thread regarding USAA layoffs

HR is in the building

Anyone else notice there are more than the usual HR folks in HO today, or is it just me? I’ve seen them everywhere in the cafe and huddled together when I grabbed my coffee this morning. Maybe I’m paranoid, but doubt it.

Everything 4ekg+1rJtbDT7 said i true! Happened to me! Hurt like he-l! Spent hours to days to weeks being bullied and demeaned and ostracized. A once top performer F-trooped and put outside the gate so all the bullies could laugh and mock for the sake of being part of the crowd. But then I realised I was in good company...my lord and savior who took notice of what this company did to me. Selah!

Maybe some day you will find yourself on the wrong side of the toxic and malevolent culture at USAA. Once they label you a certain way it will turn on a fu--ing dime and you go from being a well-respected team member to a pariah. I should add, the best case scenario is being ostracized. But (unfortunately) those looking to score points with the bullies targeting you will line up like clockwork to get their hits in. Don't worry they'll wait for you to struggle to your feet each time and raise your head to take the next hit. I learned it takes a very rare individual (on my team, non existent) to extend a helping hand or kind word. as they are then risking their own livelihood and well-being (which I do not expect anyone to do for me, but it still hurts). USAA is a career graveyard for anyone at or above a bargain basement level of values and self-esteem. And in several examples, some well publicized others not, a literal graveyard. Maybe at some point, if that happens to you or a loved one, the fear, pain and anxiety of those being abused, bullied, and demeaned will cease to amuse you. Laugh while you still can I guess?

Anyone who gets "cracked up" because people are frightened for their jobs in a dump like USAA is mentally ill. Go use your pizz-azz poor benefits to seek treatment.

To everyone stressed: I understand why but try to block out the noise, focus on your skills, and work towards getting out of this toxic workplace.

It could just be leadership's yearly union busting training. It's usually a one or two day training in San Antonio

If anything sounds suspect and is still here a week later then it's probably fake. Anything that sounds titilating but suddenly disappears a day or two later is probably true. This site may permit a lot of loose chatter but it has some pretty aggressive censorship, and when it happens it's always the way the corrupt C-suite wants it to be.

And if there are HR people here in our building for group teambuilding, I want to know why. If Hr is laying off everybody, then why not use the money it costs to travel and lodge to save an employee. That’s why I don’t think HR is here. I have a couple that I like so i will snoop
Around tomorrow to see was’ really going on.

How can we find out what is real and fake on here?

Why does this sound like an inside job? Team infighting? HR people scratching and clawing for a secure position? Willing to take their own peers down to save themselves.

Training your replacements.
Sounds like a perfect time to take leave.
That's what I'd do unless they paid a nice incentive on top of regular pay for me to stay for that humiliation ritual.

Not paranoid at all - Leave and Accommodations team is in the building along with ER. We are here for a planning session. To add insult to injury, our team was notified just a few days ago that we will all be cut, so now we are here to meet with and train the people who are taking our jobs. ☹️ Devastated. Soul crushing.

Could be their time for their town hall or something. And I agree with above poster - how do you know they are even in HR?

  1. How do you know they were in HR?
  2. How do you know how many HR people is "usual"?
  3. Why do you think that more HR people in the office is inherently bad? More HR != more layoffs. They can lay you off from the comfort of their own home.

This is beyond paranoia.
