Remember people, the only purpose of RTO is to establish the justification for your future layoff. I work at a competing bank. People are forced to go to their assigned building so they can turn around a year later and say "oh no, we're not extending the lease on that building, so you'll be layed off." As if going to that building was ever necessary, your idea, or optional. Requests to voluntarily move to an "approved location" will be denied 99% of the time... Because it's not about location at all. It's about getting rid of you and replacing you with foreigners and contact people.
It takes an extremely miserable type of person to complain to HR about someone's work schedule. Especially if you don't even work directly with them.
I’m sure all big finance and big tech are offshoring as much or more than this bank. Doesn’t make it right but these guys have a lot of power. Consumers don’t want to pay more than they are now for goods and services and companies are beholden to the shareholders.
Seriously folks-who cares if it is a goal on your performance review? Let them knock you for it. Mediocrity breeds mediocrity. If the powers at be are going to threaten the entire workforce through mediocre ratings for arbitrary policies and still expect high performance when the economy pretty much su-ks and the workforce is incapable of filling higher graded roles…let the quiet quit era begin. Know your worth.
If they offshore enough roles to India this bank will end up with a consent order, fines and people will pull their money. I’m an employee and I don’t bank at the train wreck of a bank…
I have learned the hard way not to talk to HR about anything!
There are people complaining to HR about how it’s unfair that some come in and others don’t or are coffee badging.
Sure seems like a lot of U.S. bank mgrs have nothing to do with their time.
He still has his job, but no more coffee badging. He is in 3 days a week for 8 hours a day. He thought that if he came in on Mondays and Fridays when his teammates were not there, login, then leave in less than one hour no one would notice. He would come in on Thursdays when his teammates were there and stay 4 hours. I guess the team with the strict manager caught on and he called the coffee badger’s manager’s manager. Don’t think for one second that no one notices or cares. Most people don’t care or pay attention but many do.
What’s the penalty for people caught coffee badging? I have been doing it, wonder if I should stop or not
They don’t need desk scanners. There are plenty of self-appointed hall monitors eager to tattle tale. Someone on my floor was busted for it. I knew he was doing it but paid him no mind. But, the group that has very strict manager about RTO were not amused by his coffee badging so that ended that!
Just ignore the skeptics. Others appreciate your input. I remember earlier in the year (or late last year) when someone posted on here mentioning about US Bank hub locations and one of these skeptics stated that hubs are a "Wells Fargo thing".
During lockdown I had to still go into the office 2x a week. When I logged in, there was a pop up that always came up reminding me to wear my mask, 6 foot distance, etc. This pop up message never happened when I worked from home. So, yes the system recognizes if you are in the office or not.
Everyone acting like the desk scanner / desk reservation post is made up ...why are you suddenly giving this bank the benefit of the doubt.
Also, the desk reservation thing was already being implemented at Union so that is not a shock that we're going to copy that.
@1rja+1uUzGDxE I don't discount what you're providing here but this place is so fu--ing cheap I'd be mind blown if they went to this level. But then again they love implementing costly ridiculous solutions and then to lay people off to offset what they spent so anything is possible
Why would they use desk scanners when they can use technology they already have. They know if you are using VPN.
I heard the desk scanner thing too. It’s to combat “coffee badging” and to sync with the desk reservation software rolling out.
Umm ok :) I have no reason to lie about what I know is coming down the pike. You all seem to want intel- then name call when that intel is given. Look man- I don’t have to post what I know here on this page. I have the information for myself. Name calling people with information just means that information will stop being shared. It’s really that simple.
@1tfr+1uUzGDxE
Dude you are so full of BS
It gets better- desk scanners for badges to be sure you are at your desk. Wish I was kidding but I’m not.
Really!? Managing committee is this incompetent that they couldn't anticipate something like PTO in the reporting?
Thanks for posting this.
Just when you think we've hit rock bottom the "mo--n committee" comes up with another id--tic idea!
But yes, thank you to the OP for the heads-up!
How, the reporting isn't correct and doesn't account for pto like the fans advise. We're not supposed to have to make up days but the reporting doesn't reflect that. How can they hold us to cr-ppy reporting?
How are they planning to track at least 3 client meetings counting towards in office goal? Any word on that changing for those of us in client-facing roles?
Let’s F$#%ing Go, HR! I love that you guys are sharing intel now. They must have done you real dirty to get to this point.
Any news on layoffs?
What about going to hubs not built yet?
If you don't badge in or have an RTO goal in Workday, will your year end performance review include an RTO component?
Nope, your manager’s manager has final say. If your RTO metrics aren’t up to par your manager can’t shield you. Better have your manager's manager’s buy in.
“But, your manager has the final decision on your performance review or bonus?”

Loving how we have mo--s everywhere providing intel! People, care and share information!
