Does anyone know of anyone who personally got laid off yet or know for sure what departments will be affected? Are there more plans to move more functions to Poland/Ireland?

Won't happen until 3rd or 4th week of October, just like the last 2 years

Working from home is irrelevant. If your position is to be eliminated it doesn’t matter if you are at home or in an office

Does this include merchant services call center people working from home?

How many more cuts can be made to branch staff? Every branch is short staffed as it is. Rumors how all the mortgage officer's will be let go also. I would think there will be layoffs within the wealth management group and business banking.

I think it will all happen tomorrow then an update to employees on Friday. End of week to avoid news cycle is what I’m thinking. Plus it’s also Oct. 1 and I think that is when companies that used government money for the pandemic are freed up to lay people off. Just my guess.

400 plus additional, new branches, all of which are not deemed key to ongoing operations. Rural branches and those with low transaction counts with other nearby branches are on the list. Additional layoffs for other business lines and remaining open branches are also included.

On the more than 400 branch closures , does that include the ones already closed since the April 2019 announcement ? Or will these be additional branches ?

Announcement should come by the end of the week. More than 400 branch closures, all of which will be low volume or rural branches. If your branch isn’t “key” it’s gone. Additionally, staffing cuts at the remaining branches to a uniform minimum.

It can’t be good when last week they changed severance to a lump sum.
