Just as a heads up, since HR trolls here: the severance waiver includes a NDA. So don't be too specific with any identifying details. You don't want the hassle of those clowns coming after you.

@1qnd+159kYXqp I'm wondering what location you're at. Keeping my location anonymous, but my location just laid off a lot of only young people this week so far, but are giving them conditions for rehire once the downturn ends, along with severance. Everyone I have spoken to is using this opportunity to get out of oil, which is a smart move on their parts.

The waiver says that because you are over 40 and your position will be eventually replaced by someone younger and cheaper you won’t sue the sh– out of them.
Replace “over 40” with any federally protected category to suit your case.

If you want a preview of your waiver, check the back of the US Employee Handbook. There's literally zero mystery to how it's calculated.
