Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Another blow for HON Aero, losing the Defiant bid

Mad Dog says he doesn't want us speculating as to why the platform wasn't chosen but I think most of us could speculate. My guess is they knew HON's delivery performance isn't great and they just had a nice taste of that with the T55 program. It could have also been cost of the helicopter or the capability, but one thing is certain....he's gonna have to make his list and check it twice, for the RIFMas season is upon us!

Hello people! Huge policy decision by the Army - no more new helicopter designs for this application! Various comments below about our quality and delivery might be true but even golden performance on that wouldn't have mattered in the end

Mad Dog wants no speculating because he knows he is the reason why. Cut staff, cut benefits, cut morale, cut every single metric the company can use to show they are ‘saving’ money and operating more efficiently, they’ve done.

Except it’s all silly short term because now look what he did…isn’t so money saving when you can’t generate it either.

Not hearing about Aero layoffs. I "think" a lot of the defiant resources will be absorbed by other programs.
Still a bit early to be sure.

Aero Leadership is wearing happy smiles not to pi-s off Textron-Bell but Dairyboy is going to make someone pay for the bright idea of self funding a loser.

This is a hit to Boeing-Sikorsky as they're the losers and pass that to Honeywell. Though they may challenge.

I'm unable to find the latest news on the FLRAA decision. Does anyone have a link? Does this mean that the HTS7500 program is dead?

@1puj+1k3qLsZV Based on the 401k match coming, the layoffs will be next week by Wednesday. Happy Holidays AERO.

I'm rather tied to this pursuit. Needless to say ya'll probably know how I feel.

What i don't know is how quickly Hon reacts to this kind of outcome with RIFs. Just hoping to get through this year. A few weeks doesn't really matter but mentally, for the holidays it does.

This cave dweller is glad he's not involved in that pursuit!

HON certainly wasn't the sole reason but riddle me this....

Was Hon not PART of the consortium that LIST?

There is no question that the T55 support was/is horrendous . The end result for the HTS7500 loss will be the same. Those working the program, in so many different ways will be impacted. I assume you're involved with the program? Good luck.

But this cave dweller will keep knocking out granite tablets and get paid every 2 weeks.

If this cave dweller remembers correctly Hon pursued being involved with this consortium, which then lost the competition.

If you think HW had anything to do with the FLRAA decision, you really are clueless, and know nothing about business or military operational needs. Climb back into your caves and wait for the dinosaurs to come eraticate you from existance.

Why are you using his name?
At least your post is gone if not the thread.

Don't act all uppity if you can't even follow simple rules of a forum. Yep, you certainly deserve Hon

We had trouble delivering the existing T55 engines and the USARMY was not too pleased with the year after year of excuses. Then for some reason TM is out at aero and MM is moved up. The same "rain-maker" that couldn't fix the tens of millions of dollars in past-due engine shipments. I have to think the government had that in back of their head when they awarded the contract to Bell for the V-280. Rolls-Royce has a much better name with the USG than Honeywell. I am guessing the selection folks didn't fall for the HTS7500 name switchero. First the T900 down-select loss and now this. I wonder if should up my HIPAC donations to the Chairman level? NOT

Don't call him "Mad Dog" - that is reserved for United States Marine General, former Secretary of State, James "Mad Dog" Mattis. Mike Madsen doesn't deserve to be called that. As a general, James Mattis would go to the front lines with his troops, in hazardous areas. Mike Madsen would never do this. James Mattis earned the respect of Marines, not through fear, but through great leadership. Madsen would never visit the troops on the front line (the low-class workers working mandatory overtime). It IS possible to be a powerful leader that has the respect of your employees. He does not. This is an opinion based on experiences working at Honeywell Aerospace.

Normally I'm not too surprised about anything Aero but this certainly surprised me. I check here occasionally since I moved to another company.

I thought Hon was selected back in the March time frame. Or was that just preliminary with the OEM?

I couldn't find any news about who was selected. Anyone know?

And then being told to not speculate? I guess the answer is kinda easy. MM, he has been running ISC for too long and supply chain/ISC has never been fixed.

The Anniston Boys sure have made money but certainly haven't fixed much.

Yea most likely across AERO per the usual practice. A mixture of older and younger employees to skew the average and avoid age discrimination lawsuits again then tell the remaining employees they "just have to work harder, do more with less"...you know, the standard mad dog clown hall messaging.

Layoffs will be across all Aero, just like usual.
