20k more for a manager role coming from a director role!
Imagine how much the managers and senior developers are behind the industry standard salaries!
No wonder most of them are escaping.
@1pgo+184ztOjd Good luck on your new job.
Being offered way more money for a slightly "lesser" position must be an eye opener.
Btw, are you from the Boston area ?
I am wondering if similar differences are the norm in my region (Denver).
Working in software, it didn't take 14 months to find something else. But being offered a Manager position elsewhere for $20k more than what I was making as a Director at Pearson was a real eye opener.
Don't hesitate...start now. It's not going to turn around and get better. And the severance isn't worth staying for.
Took me 14+ months to get out. Everyone looked at me like I was damaged goods coming from a dead industry.
My advice: if you’re “kinda” looking or interested. START NOW. Man, it was thought breaking away. And WOW, nothing but upside since I left nearly a year ago.
I’m sure it will happen. Applying for new jobs every chance I can!
