Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC is so broken it can no longer fund the recognition tool

Another uncommunicated change, you can no longer recognize a colleague in the recognition tool due to spending restrictions awards are not available.

Just how bad are things if something as trivial as the recognition tool is stopped.

only new recognition is temporarily halted. not the rewards already given. you can always redeem them.

once we land on better results this quarter this will all be opened up with salary increases.

Word was the program cost 8 million and 2 million just in APJ. That is fu-k all. Expect 100% of that to go towards the execs.

"thanks but fu-k you"

My manager made me cash mine in. Obviously has a premonition that the system was going to the dogs to keep Mike's bonus scheme running

You obviously know krapp all about the company you work for
Go take a nap

Do you understand that the letters "EDS" are not the same as the letters "HPE"? Thought a top IT guru like yourself could work that one out.

That's disappointing to hear, I used to like that tool. I left DXC a while back but only got my p45 today so I came back here out of curiousity. I'm glad I got out (and used my recognition points) when I did

The recognition tool was always hopeless and offensive but it was the only tool available in DXC to reward staff in any way. Now not only is it gone, but there is total silence about it's removal.

DXC Gear is just as bad. An over inflated DXC branded water bottle will cost you £12 but the postage to get it shipped to the UK is £35 . Who wants to buy a water bottle that's gonna cost £47 . DXC can't even make simple things work effectively.

Rewards in the recognition tool are taxable income in the US, and show up as line items on the pay stub.

So this is truly a measure of cheapness from DXC.

@2ukr+1ovJca97 You're clearly a delusional id--t.

EDS did not have 41 layers of managers.
EDS did not exist when the Enterprise Services merger with CSC happened.
Many HP folk who worked for HP long before HP bought EDS, joined us in the miserable DXC ship.
And if you think you had redundancies in CSC, try working for EDS & HP, we had them every quarter for years. We used to run a sweep stake of which day the quarterly WFR email would come out. By the end you were almost disappointed if you weren't in a pool, that quarter.

Also I refrained from slagging off CSC colleagues, but I've not met a single CSC manager worth the name, the techies are fine, but the managers are a sorry excuse. I'm very happy to currently have a former EDS manager as my boss.

Also how can you think so highly of Mikey the first? He broke every promise he made to ES folk, whenever it suited him and when he stood to benefit personally. He definitely made a lot of us redundant in December 2017, which was well within the year you say he agreed to.

@2ukr+1ovJca97 - this poster must be a nut case. EDS was bought by HP decades ago and merged into the HP services division.

People like you are the reason why we are where we are in DXC.

We can bring in all the smart people to turn around, but we have to clean up the junk. Work in progress, stay tuned.

CSC and EDS was not a merger it was an acquisition no matter how much you spend reverse Morris trust in reality if CSE takes money out of its pocket and pays money to HP that's an acquisition. DXC is a holding company of a merger of CSC and EDS but CSC bought EDS. This is well documented in the CSC annual report or the DXC annual report.

EDS had 41 layers of management compared to five layers at CSC

CSC had already gone through a 5-year Purge of managers.

The utilization at CSC was 70% 80% versus 40% 60% for EDS

You can make whatever comments you want but you're just proving your igno rance

EDS was emotional by because Mikey was fired from IBM and didn't want IBM to acquire eds, EDS was a fire sale

Mikey agreed that he wouldn't fire EDS employees for one year and managers for two years this was the biggest mistake he ever made he should have just gone and fired them

Look at the top billable and profitable clients today, 75% are CSC and 25% are eds

No matter how much you c ry about it

If you have more than a short period of service to retire, and retire from this company,
Shut UP and find a better job elsewhere.
If you don't, its obvious that you aren't worthy of finding something better.
You will never reach retirement or any type of advancement by staying with them.
Quit whining and make the changes you should.
Again, if you are worthy or ambitious enough.

I got a nice air fryer worth about $40 and I think a pan my wife wanted for $30 before I retired. Always have the max recognition I could to my fellow ISI colleagues

@1ovs+1ovJca97 you are talking a load of row-locks.
Do you mean HP buying EDS or the CSC+HP ES "merger"?

Regardless not everyone at EDS was a manager, far from it.
EDS managers were the same as HP managers and the same as DXC managers, there are some good ones and there are some bad ones, same with any role and any company.

Buying EDS with the biggest mistake I understand that it was emotional with Mike L wanting to stick it to IBM his former boss

They should have fired all the managers at EDS but everyone was a manager at EDS and they weren't billing

Anybody who was in billing 30 hours a week should have been fired

What a joke

I was about to type pretty much the same thoughts about just how broken we must be. After 20 years service, I at least expected an automated email, and enough points to not quite get a £25 voucher. But the event was passed over without comment. I now know why. This is the contempt the corporate machine has for us.

Are you really surprised?

Mikey probably has stuck his kids on ebay to try and reverse the last quarter's numbers. Every last dime is being saved everywhere. Spend nothing, literally nothing. Push it to next quarter if you must.

He had twelve weeks to save his job and his magic playbook.

@1cyw+1ovJca97 they will only do verbal and emails recognition. They dont mean it, so won't give a reward.

The money is now further assigned to build up the 2M bonus fund. Mike and Mary.

It's the usual bull - looking after our people by taking from them, more spin, don't trust a word of what those 2 say, the worst leaders you get.

Thier end is near.

I know it was one of the tedious "joke" posts but it goes raise a good point, in every townhall there is a bit on recognition , how will they do that now they've stopped the tool? Want to bet they'll not realise and do the bit anyway?

Please join the townhalls regularly wherein employee recognition is in the agenda. Recognition is needed for the health and well-being of the employees.
