Law suit

Who would be willing to join a law suit against centene for

  • Hostile work environment
  • Constant threats or being written up and fired
  • Lies about being able to have providers come after you - individually - for issues or errors that were made
  • persistent emails with threats and unrealistic demands

Court of public opinion is the only court that will hear the case. Unfortunately that court is only in session after the damage is done and we are long gone.

The expression "su-k it up, buttercup" is a frequently used idiom to encourage individuals to persevere through challenging circumstances without voicing complaints. It originates from the combination of the expression "su-k it up," which has roots in World War II pilots having to "su-k up" vomit to prevent suffocation, and "buttercup," a whimsical term that introduces a rhyming and somewhat distasteful sarcastic element.

This is generally perceived as dismissive.

Now that we have concluded the discussion on history and language, the floor is yours, peach 😉. Please continue with the insightful feedback! You come across as exceptionally intelligent 😆

Wow! 😮 the highs and lows of this thread. Hats off to the emotional retribution everyone is inflicting or has been inflicted upon, landing to the here and now. I myself considered how those of power would feel knowing the sui-idal ideation they inflict on working employees and came here to see if maybe it was just some lame layoff stuff for comfort that all was status quo. Looks like this environment is still in the business of making people incredibly unhappy, no matter what the cost. Hope the culture survey works. Maybe more listening tours. Happy fourth. Don’t worry I am still gonna be around. Economy of 2024 keeps us on the line longer than the average. Not 86ing anything yet. Just checking in. Oh and trolls positive or negative. Try being independent. Make your own statements. It’s not nice to stab at people who already feel stabbed.

You people accepted your job and now you’re whining and crying about it smdh. Look up all the previous employee lawsuits that are just about whining and “harassment” and see if they have gone anywhere…no one likes a whiner…

A hostile work environment is not harassment lol…if you don’t like it, find a least hostile one lol…grow up, be an adult and work til you die.

You won’t get very far. It may make you feel better to try but the evidence requirements are significant and an attorney won’t take the case unless they are absolutely sure they can win. And….odds are strongly, very strongly, against you.

I've actually considered this and wondered if others had as well.

OP: welcome to capitalism in corporate America - you are dreaming if you think you could win or even settle such a lawsuit, IF you could find representation. I’m not opposed to unions, we have a lot to thank them for. but our industry is not the place for them.

How do you figure "our industry isn't the place for them". Are MHC somehow not worthy of being protected against employers just because they are "white collar"? It's this sort of thinking that allows employers to do the shady sh-t they have been doing and the longer people allow it the longer they will do it and keep adding new things to F you over on - for example they can fire you if they insist on mandatory OT and you don't work it. My employment contract clearly states M-F 40 hrs a week not one word about OT in any capacity ...period the end. But HEY this isn't the place for unions, law suits or anything else right?

There are several people I know that are already making queries into this with labor law attorneys. The other avenue would be a class action filed through the EEOC but they are slow. Granted the whole process of suing is slow no matter what. I am also curious in who would be interested in finding out how to form a union - I know there are pros and cons to unions but I think at this stage what could it hurt?
