Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Awesome news

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges for all of us over the past year. During these hard times, we have also seen the incredible strength and dedication of our company and our people shine through.

This has especially been true of our Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) frontline production employees. While each of you has made important contributions to our performance throughout the pandemic, these individuals have gone above and beyond every day to keep our manufacturing sites running so we could meet the critical needs of our customers.

To show our appreciation for the dedication of these employees, I am pleased to announce a one-time special Bravo recognition award for each of our eligible frontline production and production support employees of US$500 (or local equivalent outside the U.S.).*

Most Band 0 and 2 ISC production and production support employees – as well as Band 3 ISC supervisors – who were hired prior to July 1, 2020, will be eligible for this award. We will provide additional information about eligibility and distribution of the award payment in the coming weeks.**

I continue to be inspired by our entire ISC team – these individuals have truly gone above and beyond throughout the pandemic. Please join me in thanking these employees for all they are doing to support our customers.

Stay safe and healthy.

Dragged my sorry butt into work for all but 2 days since WFH started last spring. Not ISC and not Band 2, bur deemed "essential" nevertheless. In 30+ years with HON I never put in as many 60+ hour weeks as I did this past year, and I'm not alone. Where is our thanks and reward?

Honeywell Aero is handing out a few sc-aps from the millions in covid19 taxpayer funding it received. The rest goes the ALT. Time to celebrate!

Sick with COVID and still worked? Sorry, but you're a dodo. Why do you think we get sick time? Wow, is HON going to come to a screeching halt if you're not there to reply to emails? Give me a break, nobody should do that. If anything, it shows your management how much they can abuse you and intimidate you into working, even with a virus. D@mn, you're a fool

So. Wait. You risked your life, by being sick... at home? Someone call the Pope. We need to get Karen here a Sainthood. Must have been death-defying, rolling out of bed to get to your laptop to check those spreadsheets. Tell us, how did you actually get COVID? Clearly not from going into work every day. RISKED YOUR LIFE by not taking sick days. WOW. Check your privilege.

I'm another WFH that was sick with COVID during and after the RIF and didn't take any sick days. I risked my life to support the factory and ensure deliveries. So, knock off the c-ap!

All is forgiven. Great company looking after their employees each and every day really caring about our well being.

My cynical nature tells me that HON HR and Communications teams will publicly boast how great they are, by recognizing employees. They never let an opportunity to strut like peacocks go to waste.

I am part of the WFH crowd and Covid survivor. During my 5 weeks of Covid I worked every single day with high fever, body aches, not to mention the GI issues. I was sick right in the middle of Riffs so taking time off to off to recoup was not an option.
Not all WFH folks are privileged enough to day drink and complain about their work load.

Something is better than nothing but .. the hours and working conditions are driven by failure to maintain facilities and equipment. Roofs, cables, tools.
Like flowers for an abused spouse honestly.

I apologize.

I made the first comment about WFH whining about not getting a (bonus). I was going off the way so many have freaked out over even the mention of returning to the office, when so many of us in ISC have never stopped going in to our work location, and even have been demanded to work mandatory OT during much of this time. It will give the appearance that those WFH people somehow think they are above the others.
I realize, also, that there are going to be those in ISC that will complain that $500 is not enough, and they think the amount should be ______. I guess there will always be people that complain about what they are given, no matter what that is.
I hope, that when the job market turns back up, in about 4 ½ years, those that are so unhappy with everything and every opportunity, move on from this corporation and find misery somewhere else.

Something is better then nothing. BUT- STOP THE STEAL**** They stole your raise. They stole your soul and they tried to steal your dignity. Don't let let them. Cash that check. You deserve it. You earned it.

The "WFH crowd" got 3 weeks unpaid last year. STFU and stop being a petty $h1t.

I'm in the WFH crowd and I think this is well deserved. These folks are keeping product flowing which is helping to pay our salaries. I know I have probably saved at least this in gas cost for travel to the office so consider that my bonus. $500 may not seem much to some, but I'm sure the production and support folks receiving it would agree it is much better than a shirt.

@1kiv: Well said. My daily commute is 50 miles round trip or about 1,000 miles a month that I'm not putting on my vehicle. My gas bill alone was $150/month that I'm not paying now. Over nine months that's $1,350 that I didn't spend on gas while I'm WFH. Also, that's 9,000 miles that I didn't put on my vehicle which also has a value. I'm not complaining at all about not getting the $500 bonus.

$500 and a cheap shirt makes up for no raise in 2020. We should feel happy that the executives will get massive compensation increase for the stock price growth over 2020. We as workers, had nothing to do with that though.

The rest of us should just be happy that we are still employed!

Yet Gas as a 3 month delay on its 2 most popular products because “someone forgot to order the components”. id–ts in ISC

IF this is real, it probably takes the place of your raise.

Whatever. This is just to distract from the 50M bonus DA will receive. Once again... this is a fraction of a percent of a percent of the dividend increase being handed out every quarter. Thanks for the $300 after tax. A union will make bonuses unnecessary by actually improving work conditions.

This is a joke right? No way I work for a company just giving money away for showing up for work during a measly cold/flu situation? /S!

Actually, I won't whine about $500, the ISC folks earned it. But most contact tracing showed exposure outside of Hon. But I didn't have to spend time/money on gas or food etc. Wear a mask all day so kudos to ISC FOLKS.

I would of liked to see $1000 for those folks but that amount just wouldn't fly.

But I also didn't like hearing from the ISC folks about the WFH folks. I'll speak for myself, I work many extra hours and I am one of the few that would like to go back to the office.

With all the cuts I'd say a lot of folks stepped up.

Well one way it will get spun. The WFH people are gonna whine and cry that they sacrificed so much and worked so hard through all of this, and they had to risk their lives to go to their front doors to pick up their doordash in these horrible times. So, where is their reward? It's just not fair! WAAAAHHH.
