The Future Is What We Make It

Anothe faceplant moment.

Honeywell prefers the culture of "if you see something, say something".
A tried and true slogan used by such effective organizations as homeland security and the new york transportation agency.

Warning to young folks. The person most punished for noticing a problem is the one who reports it. This has been true at honeywell since before you were born and more so today.

The only time they put out this kind of notice is when somebody got caught.

You’re full of cr-p. If you see something and say something about it, you will get in trouble.
My division is a perfect example of this. Projects are started and never finished. They got automation equipment it doesn’t even work. Sitting around for about three or four years.

Then their friends and buddies who are in management. They all protect each other. Even the higher ups protect the lower management. In order to get maximum bonus.

I’ll show you how bad it is. Corporate aerospace came in to certify a new automation equipment. It didn’t work the way it was supposed to it was still certified. People complained about how they did it. They got rid of most of the people who didn’t agree with them. The other people they where scared into silence.

Everyone covers each other’s backs. They’re all buddies. This is the philosophy of management. This is why they always get their bonuses. There’s no accountability whatsoever.

Don’t give me your bologna. Which states that if you see something say something. Just melt the company dry and when enough people are pi---d off. Sell the unit, spin it off, or just let it die.

@1trf+1fMjCtGJ so true on both what you said. Near us HR has different people every few months how heck do they get to know the site or people to understand what is need. Think they are there to chop heads or listen to the cry wolf type people who are usually worse than others.

When this carnival slogan came out I laughed thinking this company has been making its future for decades of shrinkage and employee abuse. In the end they were right. The future IS WHAT they made.

OP it's opposite here on what you said we have a guy goes run HR and did it like 10 times and small stuff. He listen in to others talking and off he goes.
Here an example.
Mine is all for his golden boy (race car puller) that get others sent to HR. But if golden boy disrespects you or goes against code of conduct on you and you inform manager he will spin it so golden boys not at fault. Been like this now for few years.

The Rest of the Story

Global manufacturer Honeywell International said in a regulatory filing Friday it has recorded a charge of $160 million in accrued liability concerning an investigation by U.S. and Brazilian authorities as to whether the company’s use of third parties in Brazil violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Lots of people see, say, and they get discredited and their career trashed.
Say enough and your boss leaves too.

What it really means: CYA, keep quiet, settle out of court, and if all else fails then find a fall guy at the lowest band possible.

See Something... Say Something.... Find a solution that requires zero dollars to implement and then watch your Boss take the Credit. That is what they mean.
