Platform-X itself is apparently the biggest interest for the buyer

Long dead and buried (see multiple articles on this site over past few months)
Would detract from sale price as there is a cost to clean up the mess - mitigated if KKR buy DXC as they already own BMC Software so have a cheap alternative

got to admit The Register has it exactly right with its article - and especially the comments (they could have been cut and pasted from this site!)

When Micky came in 3 years ago the share price was $37 per share.

His then pumped in $1.5 billion of share buybacks, on current price that's $6 per share.

On top of this his cost a 3 year so called "transformation journey" if that's worth $5 per share.

Total $47 = $36+$6+$5

That's what micky salvino and co should be aiming for $45 to $50.

Be interesting to see what happens.

@1wqm+1j2rRCZX: CSC and HPE were not viable businesses; that's why they merged in the hope of becoming a viable one.

Obviously, that plan flamed out.

@1nop+1j2rRCZX: Does anyone actually believe in DXC anymore? Shouty and steakcutter II see it as a couple of million bucks in their bank account, not as a business.

1lgb+1j2rRCZX - So true - CSC and DXC business failures will be model case studies for business and economic studies for University student to do a thesis on - on how to destroy a viable company for greed of the mighty $$ - to the benefit of Mikey 1 and Mr Shouty

: @jim+1j2rRCZX - plenty of cuts going forward before shell of DXC is spun out as sell offs and remaining part is bled dry by these asset stripping vultures.

Only winners is Mr Shouty, Steakcutter no 2 and his upper yes men; grunts on the ground = sack / pushed out the door.

Let's hope these asset strippers don't raid the pension fund

It’s pretty simple; the whole of DXC is worth nothing and is a “Kodak business” model. Breaking it up and selling of or retaining the few valued assets makes sense. Such as BPO or software. Selling the legacy and shrinking ITO business to another player for scale and a last hurrah does. The key to the takeover is how much though can shouty and the kronies milk out of it. That’s what matters; not shareholders or employees. It’s never been about transformation to a real global player of importance. That sham well and truly exposed and why the silence.

You are so right. Just a finance investor will only increase the speed of WFRs.
What we really need is an investor, who believes in the business and invests.

DXC is missing new contracts. A takeover makes only sense, when it brings a fresh customer base with it.
A pure 'shrink the cost to a minimum will' not bring any success for an investor. This will support the leave strategy of the existing customers.

Obivously the moral or the treatment of the employees seems at interest for one of the parties.
