Currently Interviewing - Should I Run?

Hi All,

I am currently employed but looking for a new opportunity to grow. I am interviewing for an Analytics Architect but having found this forum, I'm somewhat concerned about jumping on board... are the problems company-wide or per division, or is there some other specific attribute that is a common denominator?

Don’t crawl, don’t walk, RUN away from this abomination of a company. I would rather fight my dingy neighbors at the homeless camp under the freeway bridge for dumpster garbage than work for DXC. At least I would have some self respect left. And as far as another comment that there are 100k people happily employed here; LOL. The are here because they’re trapped and are not qualified to work anywhere else.

@2gbn+19NyA8Ni is spot on. I'd like to add one more thing: when you do change something, then someone asks you to fill in a arbitrary form that has to go through a approval phase. Once that is done, many meetings are held where everyone needs to voice their opinion on proposed change. By that time several months have already passed.

Working at DXC is like being regularly kicked in a personal place.

And between each kick, you think it might get better, but don;t be fooled. Theres always the next kick to remind you what an id–t you are for joining

Run and never look back. I got a decent salary increase for an architecture position at DXC. What I didn't know was the insurance "benefits" are so costly it negated by salary increase.

And worse was the prevalent "do nothing" attitude. I can tell you how many times when I proposed product improvements to increase competitiveness I was met with "that sounds difficult" and "we'll fix it later" or the worst was "the customer can pay us to fix it." The gross incompetence is staggering. Everyone who I worked with and had a vision to improve the products has left DXC. And I mean EVERYONE. The people who remain are those with the bad attitudes.

You will regret it If you join. I guarantee it.

So true: @1mul+19NyA8Ni "There are 100k+ employees who work for the company and less than 100 who complain on these boards weekly"

And there were pre-merger DXC 193.000 employees.

Tomorrow is my last day, after getting my WFR notice on March 6th. I already have a new job with another company (a former DXC customer), and I will literally earn twice what I've been making at DXC. I've not had a raise at DXC for the past five years, despite excellent performance and reviews.
I echo sentiments expressed above. Negotiate a salary you can live with over the duration of your time at DXC.

@1mul+19NyA8Ni: And the >50,000 who have been WFR'd. I bet they have warm and fuzzy feelings towards DXC, too.

Run. It's not worth it. DXC's attitude to all employees is "f**k you". You may have a good manager, but overall the company doesn't care.

It's a mixed bag, some bits are OK, some are not.

If you can get a decent salary it's probably worth having a go.

Don't expect raises though. Also don't expect to work from an office, it will be from home permanently in most cases.

I think that's an honest opinion... Good luck.

There are 100k+ employees who work for the company and less than 100 who complain on these boards weekly, do the math and consider the source as you make your decision.

The salary you negotiate will likely be your salary for the next 3-5 years. DXC is a good place to gain experience and training for the next step in your career - you just won't get it here.

As others have said... run!

If you can land a good salary go for it! Bargain hard, as so many are resigning the hiring teams are under pressure - the attrition rate as I type is beyond compare.

Lots of Vendors no longer want to work with DXC because of late payment! Cloud Providers have eaten DXC Lunch and the remaining advisory services cannot be delivered cos the clever gals/guys are leaving, leavers take all contacts (literally) to smaller outfits as DXC makes people use personal cell phones to cut costs.

Now you have the picture, if you can stand incompetent management who *will throw you under the bus in front of a client - then dive in!

Get that top salary cos its locked once you sign. Learn how not to run a business then get out in 18 months.

DXC is a large company and there are big differences between different business units, hell there are big differences inside business units!

On the UK Townhall meetings sometimes what I hear from other business units, in terms of what they're doing, how they are doing it and so on, is so far removed from my own experience at working at DXC that they may as well be talking about a different company.

What is definitely true is that a lot of people have had no payrises for many years, have seen colleagues made redundant on a regular basis for no good reason, terms and conditions cut, offices closed etc.

Can DXC be a good place to work, yes, but go into it with your eyes open.
