I was a part of the most recent layoffs. My last day is 6/7. I have only been laid off one other time in my career so I don’t have much to compare it to, but it’s almost like you have leprosy once you’re laid off. No one reaches out anymore it’s like they are scared to talk to you because they might get what you have. I’ve talked to a few others that were also laid off and the experience has been the same for them. Maybe it’s common and I just don’t know any better.

One day, you'll call to dispute a charge and you won't be able to communicate with the person that answers 🙄

They have multiple postings for Fraud roles on workday. I was looking to join, in a non AML focused role, but can you explain what you mean with the backlog? Do you think the new hires for fraud will be safe, or are they almost meant to be temporary roles?

Here’s a question: what are the RTO requirements? It’s 13 days in office, but can you make up days? What happens if you get sick? What happens if there’s weather? It says it’s up to leadership, but it’s confusing

AML and the risk and compliance teams are soon to get axed.

Yep, USAA has turned into a snake pit. Expect "pets" to file false "complaints" concerning your performance. Your manager will say, "I am on your side, just perform per this schedule." Then the original "pet" blocks you in whatever s/he can devise. It's the good cop/bad cop scenario. Research PIPs that happen with no warning. It's all BS devised to cheat you out of severance. This is, hands down, the sc-mmiest company I have encountered in many years in IT.

They’re also not paying benefits and no longer paying into your 401k, so it’s cheaper to pay out 12 months, which is taxed at a higher rate. They’ll also find ways to get around paying a full 12 months, performance issues, not adhering to RTO, etc

You're paid a salary based off productivity...if you're not producing, you're not productive, therfore 4 offshore candidates will assume your role and we don't have to pay their benefits or a salary...they'll work 60 hour weeks and not complain, send 90% offshore and live sweet for the 18 months they're here. The old ways are gone..this is not what it used to be. Work or get lined up..even if you are working...you're still getting lined up

But if my work is done, who cares if im not at my desk for ten minutes?? If u are salaried you have that flexibility.

They will utilize other methods to not have to pay out...notice your screen flashing recently more? Virtual lagging here and there? They haven't quite mastered screenshot and key logging without dragging down bandwidth and people noticing things..add that to not adhering to the new agreed upon in office terms that no one agreed on..and you have performance issues and not a bunch of layoffs

Don’t all Bank employees get 12 month severance? If so, what’s the purpose of laying off so many people when they have to pay a lot in severance?

There will be bank layoffs in the next few weeks, they will be staggered to stay under the reporting number to Texas Workforce. Not sure which areas, just know that bank will be hit hard each time until mid 2025. The interim bank president, he is a balance sheet geek and only cares about how far in the black can he operate and for how long. The bank is going to become extremely lean, so for those that get the 12 months severance, take it and run.

Aml is toast as soon as fraud is out of their backlog. I would say probably end of year if not beginning of 2025.
