Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Things will get better with Brandt

With Eric as Chief Claims Officer, this will work out for the better in claims.

Being in the business for a while, I can tell you he is a talented executive with the long term in mind, for both workers and the company.

Top company Agents can't wait to get a piece of Brandt's backside next week at NAB and AEC meetings. Poor claim service has cost them customers. Loss ratios are rising. Agents used to take pride in selling claim service which justified the higher prices to some degree but that's no longer the case. Claims is broken.

There is not a single line of business unit in Claims that is strong, stable, and achieving its targets. It's been a downward spiral since summer of 2020 when assessments began, culminating with the Turkey Day RIF in 2020. Even if Brandt were a genius, which is a stretch given the mess, he's not in charge. Glenn sets the targets, and Eric must deliver a plan that meets the corporate objectives. The 2020 and 2021 plans were built by Glenn's handpicked SVP Bendtsen who joined from Liberty one year to the day he could poach talent (and he was sure excited on a town hall about it). There is no plan to recover, just near-term scrambling to plug the holes. If this continues, Brandt exits as quickly as Ken Rosen and Bendtsen takes over. Not a stretch given agent complaints and customer feedback, along with spiraling loss cost pressure in part due to vendor usage instead of Allstate Claims professionals that were dismissed.

  1. Eric has been at the helm for 2 years. When do you end up saying it's not working
  2. 5k claims people did not quit this year

I love the "reputation management" the company hired, after posting their threats about posting on this "shock board". Wait, TG is too cheap to pay for it has to be the tools in HR (that department you can never find, get disconnected from when on a chat hold, and is being sued in a class action lawsuit as the principal of our 401k plan for mismanaging our savings). Yes, that department.

How bout no transparency and on top of that outright deception and lies from management. I would try out a union absolutely its not like I'm not losing money already or hasn't anyone looked at the new Open Enrollment? That reduction in force would never have played out with a collective bargaining agreement, I too used to be against unions in principal but at this point he-l lets try one out.

The employees who do the actual value generating work, but are looked down upon, are frozen in pay or dont even make CPI increases. By all means pass the costs onto labor so those multi-million bonuses continue to roll in, and have your assinine town halls. Glen Shapiro and Tom Wilson are blatant liars without any plan except "cut stuff." Quality is turning to junk and if things are so fantastic why did 5,000 adjusters leave in the last 10 months? Because they were so happy with the changes, compensation, ridiculously increased workload, and direction of the company? "Higher than anticipated" and EB's response is to applaud how they fast tracked "training." Do you id--ts read the exit interviews or is that just for show? Allstate is collapsing, and all you id--ts who claim stock is doing great how come it hasn't moved since May. Sure, the market reacted to cutting/reductions/slashing, but that time has slowed, and without any direction on increasing sales its leveled out at best. Im full of it, sure. Wait a year and lets see where this ship is.

The Mrs. Brandt comment love it. : )

In before, quit if you don't like it, its free market, and the id--t who thinks this is an English comp board. I actually am hoping for another downsizing and severance so I can leave this joke of a company. And when it happens I promise all I will every do is recount factually everything that has gone down at the company under TG. There's no need to exaggerate or lie, just recounting whats going on is evidence of violations of labor law, the FLSA, NLRA (hey HR if someone says union you dont track that person?, oh its not written down sure so its not true), and basic genuine decency.

DECADES with Allstate and it's such a clusterF*** now. No, it's never getting better with Brandt. We've lost customer focus completely. Branded company cars aren't getting use and we're relying on vendors for inspections because BRANDT doesn't care about customer service or employees. His allegiance is to shareholders only.
