Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

It's starting

The silent treatment from the single SVP left, the single leader of Operations has nothing to communicate to the people. Ulf will have her starting the layoffs soon, the area model will be accelerated to everyone. The
managers in the markets are walking around depleted. People aren't buying that the other SVP left because of "Family Issues" .

Words matter. The communication from Ulf stated that Edwige is leaving the company for "family reasons", not "family issues", and there is a big difference between the two. If there is an iota of veracity to the statement, it could be something as simple as: Edwige's "reason" is that she wants to spend more time sitting at the dinner table every night with her family, rather than traveling frequently and missing that important family time.

Regardless, I believe the "audition" between Jennifer and Edwige started in January, when Daryl Hawkins left, and the four regions consolidated to two leaders (Jennifer leading the Northeast and South; Edwige leading the West and Central). I believe that the 3-4 monthlong audition concluded late-April/early-May, and Jennifer prevailed as a result of her leadership, model, execution, and results (combined with the results of the survey).

Jennifer clearly demonstrates a deep caring and appreciation for frontline employees, and despite her probably being somewhat constrained by corporate culture, she is a shining example of what team-focused leadership looks like, because of her experience on the frontline. If anyone has a chance at unsiloing the disjointed, chaotic four regions, rebuilding trust and engagement, and mitigating the unanticipated, accelerated attrition of talent in some teams, Jennifer is the one. I have confidence that she will shake up and choose her leadership teams with that in mind, and that she is not fooled by the ones who stand on their lip service skills, rather, she will recognize and reward those whose actions and results speak for themselves.

"stabilize this ship".

Oar in one hand and a big bailing bucket in the other?

The SVP sent a email today, didn't say much but said enough for me to believe we are in good hands. She will do what she can to help us stabilize this ship.

They've said left due to "family issues" before...for those in technology they wanted out of the way immediately.
