As a former FNOL agent, taking accident and catastrophic claims over the phone, what Allstate insured drivers don't know is that when two Allstate drivers have an accident with each other, whoever calls in first should call in using their own policy, not the other driver's policy. That's because when two AS drivers are involved in an accident with one hitting the other, the first one to call in does not know that if they call in using the other AS driver's insurance, the caller (first one) will not be able to get a rental car even if that insured has the insurance for rental, only if the first caller calls in to file the claim with their own AS insurance and pay the deductible (AS attempts to get your ded back), will that driver being able to obtain a rental car. If the other AS driver calls in after the claim has been filed by the other AS driver, that driver is the insured and that driver does get a rental car if they have rental car coverage. As AS agents, we were not allowed to informed AS drivers - both drivers AS insured - that the first one calling in needs to use their own insurance to be the insured and not the claimant. That means that the other driver calling in is required to be the claimant who will not be eligible for a rental car even if they have rental car coverage. AS does not want AS drivers to know this very important fact about two AS drivers involved in the same accident. The other problem is that when the first AS driver calls in to file the claim, they may not bother to add the other AS driver to the claim, so the 2nd AS driver's information is not on the claim and has to be added by a higher level agent because FNOL agents cannot make any edits on the initial claim. So, word to the wise - if you have an accident with another AS driver, be the first one to call it in and use your own insurance, pay the ded, and get your rental car if you have rental coverage - otherwise, you will not be assigned a rental car. By the way, Geico and other insurance companies have the same policy. From my AS FNOL agent time, I found AS drivers to be the absolute worst drivers who caused 98% of the accidents. I was very surprised (as an AS driver myself) that AS drivers are lousy drivers.

Remember, whether to accept employment at the vendor is YOUR choice. You can be let go, but no one can force you to switch employers. You signed up to work for Allstate not a substantially equivalent position at company XYZ. You can always insist on your severance rather than accept employment with a vendor.

Most of the leaders and directors and recruiters in most of these areas have not yet been notified of what is coming hence the current hiring.

They’re hiring more FNOL and salvage /theft processors currently in my unit . That’s odd.

@1jyr+1hdNrVVR, do you include yourself in that analysis…
If you are leadership up to director, don’t worry, the end is coming for you too…..

Let’s not kid each other. This is a result of two things- expense savings for the company & find people that don’t have cr---y attitudes that turn off customers at a very important moment of truth. They should have done this years ago.

The only non management level people left in the United States who haven’t already left are the marginal talent types who have zero options outside of Allstate. They will never find comparable level employment and they know it. So hang on until the bitter end. And hope like heck they can reasonably retire or the spouse has a decent job. Because the alternative is working as a store associate at Walmart while draining your IRA / 401 K long before retirement date to make ends meet. I legitimately feel for those folks, because they are the ones who are in real peril.

Considering how many thousands it's
looking like being impacted I'm sure they have a plan to sc--w a lot of us out of severance. They aren't going to be handing out severance like candy like they did in 2020. Word also is a certain number of us will be transferred to the vendor before we are laid off and those vendors do not hand out severance. This is going to be slimy and ugly.

I'm a claims processor.

Can't happen soon enough. The question is if they are going to stiff us on the severance somehow.

I don't trust Wilson and Shapiro at all, so we probably will get the short end of the stick.

Anyone heard any dates or specific info?
