Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Listen closely people, this is what is happening in the coming months. Don't believe me? Just watch.

T-Mobile is going to lay off over 2800+ people and don't want the bad press for calling it an official layoff.

Here is what is happening -

  1. ) At minimum the top 2 Highest cost Customer Care call centers will not have leases renewed.
  1. )T-Mobile says "You can keep your job you have to move to Rochester, the new call center because the lease in X center won't be renewed".
  1. ) No one will move for $20.00 an hour job with bad management. They will only offer relocation reimbursement for the #1 top performing coach and the operation manager.
  1. ) To avoid bad press the e-mail they send out announcing the closure will say state that location reimbursement is covered for top performers despite it only covering 2 people.
  1. ) Everyone gets laid off under the guise of "You didn't want to move to keep your job, it's such a shame."
  1. ) New Call center opens in a low wage area. All of the new leaders and agents make a small fraction as the higher wage area.
  1. ) Mike Sievert pockets all the money he saved.
  1. ) You end up jobless during extreme inflation.

This ended up being true. I just caught wind of it today however they didn't say which 2 call centers were closing, just said 2 underperforming ones would experience relocation.

I am so sorry for the loss of the employee at the Colorado Springs. It’s sad how executives can make decisions about people without regard to their lives. Mike Seivert is very immature in his leadership style. John ledger cared about the employees and customers. MS just seems to be concerned only about money. While making millions, he sees winners and losers instead of lives. The guy has no empathy.

Colorado Springs agent here - the buzz of the center this week has been nothing but people saying they are scared that this layoff is coming. I will admit right now, I am terrified, we just had a manager commit su----e less than a month ago after all the stress this place has caused us. It isn't right, IT ISN'T RIGHT!!!!! IT'S NOT RIGHT

See - this is EXACTLY what happens when you back stab your employees for years. They have laid off so many tenured people, lied and said there would be no layoffs for years that now you don't know what is true. No one can say "This isn't going to happen" because for 2.5 years straight t-Mobile has back stabbed thousands and thousands of loyal people.

For the record, I work in the ALB center and heard this rumor was true as well.

Looks like the TMO trolls are out. Let’s look at the facts. T-Mobile has not been honest about layoffs in the past. They have been on a crusade to cut cost by bringing in Indians or cheaper talent. So for a 20 job, I would bail. Get something while you can. T-Mobile would prefer to keep employees until the last minute and then dump at the last possible moment. It’s a business and it looks out for themselves. Don’t trust the trolls or the managers if they call this a rumor. I drank the koolaid and ignored the rumors. He-l I even trained my Indian replacement before the laid the hammer. I am glad they did because my job took 5 people to replace. Good riddance. I know everyone is working hard and there is better. This isn’t the same company anymore. Run when you can.

the package from Meta after layoff that can be used a retirement or extra bonus or down payment for a nice horse, plus it is so easy to land a job in another company, for tmobile employee, it will be different story, do not be fooled.

I wonder where all the dissatisfied folks from T-Mobile will go now that Meta and Amazon have laid off 21K between the 2 of them?

Regardless of close or not, the call center in US does not have any value, 1, cost is expensive than Indian, 2 no career path when it comes to dealing with stupid customers. So get out and find another job.
