Where does core team fit in management ladder. Is it next to CEO?
The way some people brag about in Longmont..they say as if they r next in-line to be CEO
Can someone clarify?

Core-Team Leaders are equivalent of Director or Senior Director and usually report to a VP (though at times there has been another layer between VP and CTL). A top-paid Sr. CTL could push $400K in a good year between salary (~$250K), bonus (~$60-70K) and stock grant ($60-70K). Most are paid less.
I hear they’re especially good at trolling anxious and discontent peons. We must have dozens of them here.
I work at Google, want to apply for core team leader. Can someone refer me
Looks like Seagate core team leaders salaries are more than Google/Meta. No wonder some ppl call Longmont FAANG in comments
I heard core team leader upwards of 1M salary in Longmont
@1rvz 500k? As with all positions it depends on the individual. Seagate is incredibly top heavy and it gets worse with every lay-off. Seagate has a big problem with keeping high level management in place even after the workers are gone. Personally I have lost the energy to care about Seagate’s problems these days. Hopefully things will turn around time will tell the tale
The role is important for the company. It's the chief commander role of a product, and there aren't many products in Seagate at the moment. Whether or not the person is a good fit for the position is another story. A good chief usually won't brag about how important his position is.
@1jva+1okTya5F Insanely paid does it mean salary of 500k
This company is desperately short of insanely paid Office Jockeys that make it to work 2 out of 5 days.
We see former Core Team Leads step up to VP positions.
So basically a person who has survived many layoff, by art of being in good books.
firmware Eng + project manager, Some might not with good debug skills though.
Isn’t this just a managerial role..or are these people with PHD’s who do research in advanced technologies like AI etc
It depends on his/her capability. Someone was close to CEO and some others were just tech leader or PM.
It's a pretty big deal to be one. Yes, they do talk to the CEO directly.
Core Team Leader is an useless role
