Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

OPERATIONS

Any truth to Ericsson or 3rd party vendors taking over Dev and Fops? Lots of noise in the industry about this. Quite a few of the Field Techs are leaving the company going to Amazon, taking jobs in technology. Spill the beans if you know anything.......

At the end of the day it doesn’t matter how hard you work or who you are friends with when T-Mobile decides to do whatever they do it will happen. The Area Model is nothing short of a disaster, nothing about it is efficient. T-Mobile doe's not care that folks are leaving and they are not being replaced and they think this is a sustainable business model.

There is no chatter about overall outsourcing, but the modeling they currently have underway can definitely Segway easily into outsourcing if they choose. I’d say, field techs RF and dev need to remain as structured and efficient as possible to show corporate we need this entity and it should never be considered to outsourcing.. the plan is there but don’t give them a reason to use it. Everyone is always so torn down and doing or wanting to do less.. if you think the grass is greener on the other side, by all means go for it.. AWS has a huge amount of burnt out people.. its tech.. they will easily work every bit of you to the bone.. if you don’t know that then look at Glassdoor or speak to people that work there.. again, stop this slacker attitude and get with your manager to do more.. take on a small assignment.. remain relevant

I have some thoughts. Let me finish up in the broom closet and I’ll be back.
