Chevron does L1 visas most of the time.

Chevron doesn't hire H1Bs but they bring in MSPs like LTI and Accenture who bring in nothing but them.

If you are mad about tech industry and consulting sc--wing you with H1B, the same is true for F-1 and OPT visa for students who come here and then work for 3 years with employers who don't have to pay payroll taxes for them, with hopes of the foreign student getting H1B in the lottery. It is very much abused and workers get very low wages. This account for about 0.5 million people... these people then continue to leverage Day1 CPT schools to continue staying in the country with more H1B attempts. This is a scam...

H1B visas are only an issue in tech companies. Very few H1Bs in the oil industry, so this entire thread is only engaging the uninformed.

Chevron does very little H1B sponsorship. Few PhDs in Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering, Geology, but very few in general as they just don't want to deal with it if they can find an American. Only Big Tech abuses it.

Outsourcing to India helps them circumvent the gaming of the H1B system with other US based employers.

Happy to share my cai if you share yours. The more that we outsource and the more that we replace jobs here with people from other countries, the worse off we all are. Read. The. News. From a variety of sources. If you read from one source then you will never get the full story

As Musk says H1Bs are important to bring in skills we need for this country to maintain our position as the greatest. However.... If we are laying of Americans that can do the job and keeping employees here in the USA on H1B visas like we did in 2016 and 2020 that is flat out wrong. These H1 employees need to be the first to go when their is excess. oh.. and by the way. With all their benefits they are paid way more than US payroll when they are in America. That also is wrong

I guess some people don't watch the news. It is Musk, Vivek and Trump himself that are supporting increasing the h1b visas and hurting American workers. It's not JB that brought it up even though he hasn't helped either. Is all what they are saying "American First"?

Because he said one thing to us and it already doesn't look right. He had a chance to be a serious person for us this time and he nominates Gaetz. He's got musk running the show. If you can't speak up when he goes off track then you're just another sheep

I’m not sure why so many continue to blame Trump for everything? Everything that has taken place the last 4 years has happened under JB’s failed leadership so he deserves the credit. The other guy isn’t even in office yet. TDS is real

More hypocrites on our side doing the opposite of America first. We win all three houses just to send more jobs over seas and replace more American workers here at the same time.

https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2024-staffing-firms-game-h1b-visa-lottery-system

Each year in April, the US government conducts a lottery that shapes the lives of hundreds of thousands of people — and America’s future as an economic power. It’s a drawing for a limited number of skilled-worker visas known as H-1Bs. Tech giants, startups, banks and dr-gmakers all vie for slots, hoping to snap up international graduates of top US universities who must otherwise leave the country. Most don’t get picked.

The game, it turns out, is rigged. New federal data obtained by Bloomberg News reveal how thousands of companies got an unfair advantage by helping themselves to extra lottery tickets.

DJT favors the EB-1 visa, also called the Einstein Visa, for individuals with special skills and are highly acclaimed in their field - and on occasion for fashion models sans clothing.

I thought DJT was America First? This doesn't seem America First. This seems like Rich people first...

another irrelevant thread. Chevron is currently sending jobs to India and not hiring Indian citizens to work in the US on H1B visa.

India is fired up with H1B. They want more and more, so the flow of money is not stopped. It's funny to see how riled up they are (google it) !

Make sure you understand this well, from a post below:

It doesn’t really matter for us though - chevrons going to send the jobs to India rather than being Indians here.

Does Chevron even sponsor H1Bs? I didn’t think we did.

But to the question, it’s a racket that companies use to bring over cheaper labor rather than pay skilled American workers. Elon either knows this, or he’s been lied to by his leadership team and believes them.

It doesn’t really matter for us though - chevrons going to send the jobs to India rather than being Indians here.
