Georgia Medicaid just announced their intent to award the new Medicaid contracts. Amerigroup is not on the list of selected companies. Does anyone know if GBD layoffs to date factored in the loss of Georgia Medicaid? I knew we had bid to get a renewal but I don't know if we expected this or not (I am in a shared services team so impacted, but indirectly)

GA has plenty of commercial business to justify the ATL office
There are many associates in Georgia. Don't wish for this office to close, or they will no longer be within 50 miles of an office like our ridiculous policy demands.
Agreed on closing the Atlanta office, no one wants to be there and why continue to reward Georgia?
@2ted+1vN4Lv3f. No kidding. Down another 2% today. I dont have stock options but I do have ESPP stock and am regretting it now
Close down the ATL office. If states don’t want your business then go all in and setup shop in states that do.
This is just one of the reasons the stock has dropped below December 2021 levels. Good thing I'm not in a pay grade high enough to get stock options -- they would be worthless right now.
@OP No, not factored in to the RIFs this year, too soon.
And your point is? GA just posted the "notice of intent to award" yesterday. The transition will be months away. Perhaps you are waiting for the official Elevance communication.
Amerìgroup is still all over the GA site
Is there a company announcement or is just what people are getting informally or in the news?
Guess that means they are going to layoff another Medicaid Encounters Market Lead.
Scores on our RFP were low. I wonder if that was because they had AI streamlining the RFP process?
Bye Felicia!
Here is a link from the State's website. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the PDF for the full announcement and NOIA

Yikes-I can’t find that announcement though-is it on the state website?
@1rts+1vN4Lv3f True. KY Medicaid will be gone at the end of the month. I've read all the posts on this site about RIFs due to offshore jobs and AI, but the Elephant in the room is our company is losing business fast. Many of the RIFs this year are because we are losing customers left and right.
This should not be a surprise to anyone. Many of the managers and directors from Amerigroup are inept and they have no business in a leadership role.
Be prepared. Sunsetting a market takes 4-6 months tops.
We lost KY Medicaid too. Dropping like flies.
Yet another one of our customers who sees through the smoke and mirrors. Just because ELV leaders will BS us endlessly doesn't mean they can BS a paying customer endlessly. The only reason we haven't lost more accounts is that so much of the contracts are multi-year.
Thanks for posting. Just wondering how Corporate Comms will spin this (or if there will be complete silence like some of the other accounts) Hard to imagine how they can avoid discussing this one, But so many things these past months have been hard to imagine (I never imagined we'd lose CAlPERs either)
Ouch! People definitely knew GA Medicaid was at risk...GA went to RFP more than a year ago. I doubt it was factored into our recent layoffs because Amerigroup made it to the finalists round so there was still some hope. Also it is too soon for those layoffs as there will need to be a transition period and that will take time, many months at least. Enough time for some of us in GA to find new jobs. Cold comfort though.
