Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

The number of redundant roles is huge

It is terrible what is happening in this company and how it is managed.

Have you ever worked in a company with more redundant roles than here?

Agree with @1jfz+1kun4qtE, sometimes to actually get a payrise you have to change job title, based on the old archaic titles inherented from Lucent/AT&T days, even if the role doesn't change. Should be something they could sort quickly if they had the will and the understanding of the issue.

As we ALL know, sometimes a rate of pay/salary directs a job title designation

We now have more Directors than Engineers, and then all these new hires with fancy titles and no substance

Lack of responsibility is contagious … it creeps up on people when they’re not listened to, disempowered & face ambiguity at every corner… systems and processes solve for some of this & create room for improvement

Funny, but not accurate.

The phrase "redundant roles" implies that more than one person is responsible for each function. This is nonsense. When was the last time you found someone at Avaya who admits to being responsible for anything?
