A sick day in my future tomorrow in Clifton. Avoiding the dreaded 10/22.
@1rq - When they laid me off they emailed me sh-t to sign since I worked remotely. I didn't sign or send back a f-ing thing except my laptop.
I still have a job. So far.
@2vc was that you I saw sitting in your car in the garage this morning at break time? Posting this? Lol.
Another gloomy Monday in Clifton. Rainy cold day and the roof is leaking in the usual places. Rumors coming from the usual suspects too. Rumors of layoffs. Any day now. Maybe Wednesday. Maybe Wednesday the 22nd.
This place feels like a non-stop funeral.
Today is my last day at Clifton. Later bi--hes!
Just doing as little as possible without getting fired. Taking my PTO as much as I can get away with. Taking "me time" during the day as much as I can get away with without getting caught. When there is an "all hands" meeting, I slip away to my car and take a nap until it's over.
It keeps me sane.
ph-k dis place.
After the layoff I don’t give 2 weeks anymore if they have the right to let you go anytime why you should be nice and give 2 weeks. A lot had changed since my layoff I don’t work over time or weekends, I take vacation occasionally, I don’t volunteer for more work or projects…I just do the minimum to survive and collect a paycheck. Ignore my boss request if they outside of SOW. At L3harris the less you do the less mistakes you make the bigger the reward.
@24s your new employer won't care if you gave notice. They probably won't ask. And, there is no way they would know. L3 Harris is not allowed to share any negative information with an employer you are applying for a job with. It's illegal. And, they won't take the risk of incurring litigation against themselves.
@1ve Not giving notice, won’t it hurt your reference going forward when applying for new positions?
Giving two weeks notice is a courtesy to your employer from the employee. Unless stated otherwise in an employment contract, no employee is required to give advance notice of their departure. You can literally walk out, clock out, and leave without notice. The company is required to pay you for every hour you have worked. Conversely, no employer is obligated to give you advanced notice that they are laying you off unless the number of people laid off exceeds the state's w a r n act.
Knowing what every L3 Harris employee knows about the company they work for, it's perfectly okay to just leave. That means, if you got another job lined up and a solid start date, don't tell L3 Harris anything at all. Discreetly move your personal items out of the building until there is nothing left. Delete any personal information from your computer at work. On your very last day, clock out as normal and leave the building. The very first mailbox you drive by, drop your ID badge into it. And that's it you're done. If L3 Harris reaches out to you, ignore them. Your life is moving on without them.
@1rq it was my understanding (at least in Texas) when you give your 2 weeks notice, your employer can acknowledge your notice early and let you go same day if they wanted to
@1j8 follow up. I'm going to meet with an HR rep in the lobby tomorrow to pick up my personal stuff and get the policy documents and all that shyt . They will probably want me to sign something. I wonder if they will actually say I got fired for giving notice.
@1jt no. The id--ts in the guard house don't know anything except that my badge access was denied. I left the premises and parked in the Target parking lot and called my supervisor. That's how I found out. Real classy.
@1j8 what did you expect? The company is ran by mo--ns. Fortunately for you, you have a head start at finding new position before all of the other people start applying for jobs after the next layoff. Good tip, always be applying for a new job if you work at L3Harris.
For any potential college students looking at L3Harris, keep in mind the company is not full of top tier talent. It's full of mediocre at best. The engineers are the bottom of the barrel mixed between people who can't find a job at another company and geriatric people who should have retired a long time ago. Don't let them fool you, they're not as good as they once was, they're not as good as they ever was.
Management is full of people who wanted to be engineers but due to incompetence were promoted out of positions where they performed work as an engineer and became a manager with no real training or talent to manage a bunch of incompetent employees.
It's a place to avoid like the the
Plague.
@1j8 …”called”……you mean went to the guard house and was told in person.
I gave written and verbal notice on Monday September 29 in Clifton. I gave 2 weeks notice. On Wednesday October 1 my badge stopped working. I called and was told I had been terminated. My health insurance coverage ended Wednesday at midnight. this is the kind of company you work for.
Clever. L3 outsources AIDEWS to Mercury. No need to lay people off. Savy employees go where the money is. Bye-bye Clifton.
I won't be back.
The building will probably be empty in a couple of years anyway.
@16q LOL... I'm giving notice on Monday 10/14. I'll be out by Halloween
Rock on bro.
I won't have to worry about layoffs from this company anymore. I gave notice today. My last day will be October 10th. Goodbye Clifton forever..
Oct 9th is the Palm Bay rumor.
Don't know why so many people had anxiety over September when everyone knows October is usually the minor RIF month. And April is the major one .
Clifton always has its RIFs in those months. Pretty much every year since the merger.
Doesn't the VP of O&PE look like a cult leader in that video thumbnail for "Celebrating Manufacturing Day". If for your celebrations they offer you Kool Aid be sure to think twice. ... Just saying!
The Margins look good for Q3. If there will be RIF depend on Q4 outlook where they meet the revenue and expense numbers.. Any layoffs happen this week forward is for Q4 and Q1-26 numbers. This is the culture you work at.
@gv nah tomorrow's Tuesday now.
@gk bruh tomorrow’s Saturday??
Not today. Maybe tomorrow. Save this post and look at it every morning.
@OP which site?
