What are your thoughts? I'm here for the pay.

I’m here for the pay. I really tried to make an impact the past few years and have only been met with unclear direction, lack of leadership and abysmal compensation. Management cares more about renovating their fancy Ohio office with a glass fireplace and zero about the 7 year old laptop, with crumbs in it that was sent to me to do my work. The disconnect is absurd.
I joined the company and saw what was going on. I do what they ask me, which is very little. I work on home improvement projects all day. Just finished my new kitchen, gonna start the bathroom remodel next week.
Above and beyond to hit my QIP quarterly. That’s all. Production/quality based area.
Agree. No incentive. They even discourage impact points in lieu of impact cards now so you can't even give your teammates some actual money equivalent.
I stopped rating myself as exceeds. I play very fair every year, but what we think doesn't matter. Years that I got exceeds, I rated myself meets. Years I rated exceeds I got meets. I got marked down on a corp behavior that was so phenomenally inappropriate I knew adjustments were made to reduce my rating to fit a bell curve.
There's also no incentive to build a strong team. You can't have a team full of exceeds so you need at least one person to give needs to so it makes sense to keep low performers around. When I look at my team, I think it would be a hard choice because we do a great job, especially together. Putting people leaders in that position su-ks. And you'd also think we would stop using practices that breed competition instead of collaboration.
You might get someone who will give the obligatory 3 but still take care of you bonus wise. No guarantee. Seems totally arbitrary to me. I think Spark would do a better job of identifying the performance of associates than leaders. At least spark would have no agenda of its own.
What incentive is there to work really hard? Annual reviews are around the corner and nearly 75% of the company will get graded a 3 - “meets expectations”. Even if you work hard, the chance you just a meets is pretty good.
Is that sarcasm? Did chatgpt write the double AI jobs post? It started well and then went awry somewhere around the smiley face. Did the emoji not paste? Did you want to make sure everyone knew it was possible with a specific kind of set up. That was nice of you if that was the case.
I don't begrudge anyone for their hustle. Some people take walks. Some people watch tv. Some people do laundry. Some people work a second job. Do you, boo. That said, answer my emails and IMs in a timely manner for F's sake.

Ask the AI
How do I get one of the A.I. jobs?😀
Lot of us in the AI team are doing this already! We get double pay as we are working elsewhere as well. We manage the single day at office by hiding into those small cabins they have built :-). And guess where I am connecting to from there with my personal hotspot and second laptop? Even the people leaders in AI are doing the same. Most of them have more than one job. Some are working at consulting as well (Toptal).
I'm doing more with less.
More life with less work masochism. And I'm exceeding my expectations so far.
Don't understand people that go above and beyond for a company that is not theirs!
Not a fan of that label. I am not quite quitting, I am taking back my life. You pay me for 8 hours a day, that is what you get.
I’m here for the pay??? Is anyone here as a volunteer? We’re all here for the pay. The always overhanging RIF threat just makes it more so.
Same… especially ever since the RIFs started last year
Been did that since they move me to a new department. I do just enough of my job o get paid. Elevance thinks they are slick my underpaying and overworking their employees. They give you one role but you are actually doing the work of about 8 roles for sh-tty pay. They will get the bare minimum from me until they can pay me accordingly.
