Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

VPs are on another planet

With this Crowdstrike issue let's hope its stopped the VPs free holidays with flights halted.

Just proves you don't need to be flying around at un affordable big expenses and creating ESG issue with CO2 emissions.

@1iyj+1tAdxEde I agree. I watch on in despair at how some colleagues faff about trying to complete the simplest of tasks in the most cack handed way. But the company doesn't want it's staff trained, it cannot afford competent staff. But cannot see the damage not investing has done.

What was more alarming was the number of DXC colleagues who couldn't boot in to safe mode, despite repeated guidance on how to and also the number who couldn't delete a file.
We're an IT Services company, a base level of technical competence is surely a given regardless of what poxy job description you have.

Goes to show. No matter how big the company. At the end of the day it's pretty much down to one developer. If it was a DXC engineer I'd be saying - And that's what happens when you undervalued your technical staff, don't have tools and processes. And as they will get the same money they negotiated when they joined 5 years ago no matter how good or bad they are they probably don't really care.

If anything DXC is scrambling like all tech companies to help. Good or bad, DXC bit the bullet and paid through the teeth to deploy Crowdstrike on all of its internal and managed servers a couple of years ago. Customers resisted heavily due to the cost, some may be happy they did right now. At least with a bug in the security software you know who the culprit is and they’ll be paying you instead you paying a ransom. But with DXC blanketing CS on all its kit they probably got hit pretty hard themselves ( as well as customers they provide managed services to).

Too bad DXC WFR'd so much of the experienced security and other IT professionals. I'm sure it's a chaotic day with newbies trying to figure out what to do, and clueless executives trying to look like they are in control.

I'm sure its not going to stop the Faart flying to London to spend time with Shelli or Fernandez travelling to the South side of the Globe when the seasons change to checkout the globe, or the Drummer fancies a vacation to London this week.

These company paid free holidays will somehow pivot DXC to grow magically.

Its only been 7 months give it 2 years of free holidays. l and big financials bills before they calm down.

These guys are enjoying it to the best of their lives.
