Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Have you or do you know anyone who has been put on a UN?

I have been put on a UN do to my survey numbers being low. My Un states I have 60 days to raise it to 80% which is goal or face possible termination. Do you know if you or others have beaten a UN for surveys? I heard the managers are doing this across claims but its crazy because in my mco alot of ppl are not making the goal for surveys.

Brandt should be on a UN for the CLF results under his leadership. Whether related to process design, execution, or staffing levels, it starts and ends with him and his senior team. Clearly the past 9-12 months from assessments to RIF to understaffed teams reflect ineffectiveness. Who will be the next Chief Claim Officer?

@1igf+1bUkjSMk OP here. Thankfully, I live in a blue state and confirmed I would still receive unemployment if im let go because of these damn surveys. I expect Allstate to fight me on getting unemployment as well but I have alot of documentation to supporting my case.

When they drop the hammer they will fight unemployment but don't worry, in most states you will get it. Allstate will try to say they fired "for cause" but you can beat them at that game. The unemployment system is supposed to exclude people who embezzled $ not people who have worked at a company for years and suddenly the company decides to implement a new rating system that can easily be proven to be haphazardly implemented. There are a few (red) states that will basically try to collude with the company but most states won't do that. Read up, read your states unemployment insurance rules and educate yourself. Have at least 3 months of living expenses saved because it can take a few months to get your $.

CLF is complete BS, some random douche can tank your whole year with a bad survey and it may not even be your fault.

Don't wait to find a new job, they have set you up for a cost free termination on their side.

These unethical UNs are pretty much your notice from Allstate of being "laid off" but no severance or medical benefits for you and we dare you to apply for unemployment.

If you're put on a UN, start looking for a new job. Plain and simple.

@uil+1bUkjSMk care to explain how a union would prevent shipping jobs of to other countries? Hasn't stopped automakers.

Anyone who thinks that all these openings for adjusters is the company trying to fix the short staffing of the role has no clue. These are positions to fill the adjuster positions of higher paid tenured adjusters that will be forced out by these UNs and other trickery. You see Tom and Glenn do not care that we are short adjusters. It will be a while yet before their pockets and the pockets of the fat cat investors and shareholders are impacted. There is a lot of pain well below them to be had first.

This is all part of the plan...post for new adjusters, get rid of the higher paid tenured adjusters preferably without severance or unemployment by railroading them for "cause", replace them with cheap new blood, and continue to crack that whip of adjusters working 60 hour weeks and weekends and if those numbers don't go up and those cases don't get cleaned up any quicker then UNs and firings for performance all around. This my friends is the sham and scandal known as "Transformative Growth". Face it. We as adjusters are all screwed.

Put on UN for estimating metrics, which if compared to most of my team were inline with everyone else. Played the game for 30 days, raised the numbers best possible. They extended another 30 days and numbers were flat, no increase no decrease. CSL advised me they were turning my case over to HR for a decision. By this time I had enough, to much mental anguish to handle. Working conditons were the worst in 2 decades, goals were mostly out of reach, they forced me to hate them so much that I ended up resigning to save my mental health. So in the end they got what they wanted, I was the senior tech in my state, out with the old and in with the new. All by design.

Here we go again. … .. any pro Union talk gets bashed ASAP by home office. Classic Hahahahaha. Someday when all the jobs are in India you scratch your heads and ask yourselves. “How’d that happen”?

Unions can protect you from this??? Seriously?! Hahaha.. you have an inflated idea of what unions can do. If this is a company policy goal then the union would just back it up and tell you to make your goals. They can only protect you if you are making goal and the company wants to still get rid of you.. MAYBE.. the goal wouldnt exist in the first place cause a union might have negotiated for it to be lower, but 80% is pretty low already. And it's not the workers fault that Allstate is a sh---y company and abusing its workers cause there is no union... ridiculous post. ANYWAYs.. beating a UN for surveys is tough since they are random and you have little control over who gets them and fills them out. I would ask others who are making goal what they are doing to get people to take surveys and give them good reviews and try what they are doing.

I know a few who are also on UNs for this same thing. I am just floating above the line but considering so much is out of our control I'm sure I'll be impacted eventually. Such a slimy way to force people out to avoid paying severance. But after last year and how much they paid out I am not surprised with these tactics. And as they eliminate more adjusters by doing this we will just be more and more buried. There is no way out if this for any of us. 😔

Part of the plan. Eliminate adjusters any way possible before the next round of lay offs so they don’t have to pay severance or unemployment. Replace with new ones so it looks like you’re growing the zones and replacing with better. If you had a Union, you could beat this process but too late for that now. Allstater’s in general don’t want a union as the workers think they have power and control. Good luck. Sorry to break it to you but that is the harsh reality.

They use survey metrics to get rid of people. Better get your resume up to speed.
