Is quiet quitting a bad thing? Have many managers and analysts quietly quit?

State Farm doesnt pay when it comes to hard work. Youll get more work, the same rating, the same blind interview where the hiring manager doesnt know what youve done and doesnt care.

In my experience, getting on an easy action plan is the best course of action. Your safe from brutal reassignments. You wont get extra work, often less, and you wont get that $40 a paycheck promotion, but who cares, a salary compression is only 2 years off and the try hard who got the raise will miss out on that....and it will nullify their payoff for that hard work anyway.

I typically stroll in 10-15minutes late per day. I startoff by checking my personal emails on yahoo then I call friends talk about my weekend. My boss tells me my numbers are too high and i bust out in glee that i hit high score! I mock her and the companies illigitimate metrics. Then i cruise to the cafeteria take a long lunch. I basically run the place. Later i hit the library where I dump my afternoon tipsturd in the bowl. I come back i click some keys. Pretend to take calls then go home. The mo--ns are none the wiser.

True, quiet quitting is basically you doing exactly what you are being paid for. Companies now have such a high expectation to go above and beyond that they are basically not paying you for what you are doing.

Quiet quitting is just the normal people realizing that going above and beyond is only for another person benefit (beyond pats on the back or a token reward) so people now want to do exactly what companies are paying for...and thats really causing issues for management whos been getting away with free productivity for a LONG time.

I didn’t quiet quit, I was professionally disrespectful after being fed up of getting batsht crazy evangelicals as managers having more for divorces than Anderson Silva title defenses. Putting me down 1-3x a week.

By this time I finished my education, so it gave me all the motivation to go hard enough to get fired from my call center career that hardly paid enough to cover rent in a neighborhood someone mag dumps handguns once a year. For once I had motivation to come to work. It lasted a few months before they caught on.

"quiet quiting" as it is called today is the "new" term this unexpeirenced generation has chosen for something that has been around forever.

We used to call it "lazy" or "incapable".

All the quiet quitters I knew in my 20's are still in menial jobs that they hate, or cannot retire because their income increased much slower than those who actually applied themselves.

Get back to me in 20 years and let me know how you are doing....I mean really, as you greet me when I enter Walmart, let me know how you are doing.

I don't care what business accumen you put on it. Leaving a job for a better future more in line with a respectable lifestyle is appropriate. Generally most positions today at SF given the current benefits is not competitive for a healthy lifestyle. Emphasis on healthy lifestyle. Claims is not healthy to most.

Micromanagement is in most cases invite only! FYI! You show management red flags they are compelled to look into it. Management is t trying to invent things to take up more of their time.

quiet quitting is really a terrible name, acting your wage and doing exactly what its expected of you aka 100% is suddenly bad? why ?? its the basis of the work contract you get paid to do a certain job back in the day ( oh trust me I been around longer than you have) you would over achieve and stand out to get promoted and if you kissed enough a-s you could do it but now companies rather have high turn over so they don't even have pay that is comparable to what the market and inflation demands, fast food places pay what SF pays in claims to start.

its easy to criticize the young generation but they actually figured things out faster than we did, they take the cr-p and see the bs a mile away , todays workforce is more productive than 40 -50 years ago and yet pay is not keeping pace and upper management is tone deaf about why they cant keep employees while they micro manage them out the door, never has the micromanagement been this bad , the weird fetish they have for control for basically low pay i don't blame newbies for "quiet quitting"

Getting my popcorn ready and waiting until the recession hits and all these quiet quitters get quiet fired. Actually REAL fired.

I LOVE watching a generation who hasn't lived through a variety of economic times believe that they know everything.
