Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

This holiday season Just Say NO

No more working on Christmas day or the day after New Years. No more unrealistic project goals. A company that can't contain its workload to a 40-hour week with guaranteed holidays is not worth working for. We check this site because we already know we are not valued as employees. Just say NO and be present for your family on the holidays.

Anyone who can not relate to the poster is apart of the problem. Period. If you’re logging off at 4, check in a 7 to see all the green online signs of the people carrying the load.

Post ID: @dltv+1k4EG7Pj I’ll chime in here… I get working through the holidays sucks but please wake up Sunday morning with your kids and spend actual Christmas day with them.

Post ID: @dltv+1k4EG7Pj I agree with the reply you were given. Do it this year. Take off for your kids. Or you won’t do it next year either.

@dltv+1k4EG7Pj What makes you think there won’t be go lives next year? Stand your ground and do it this year.

Not the OP but adding my .02

Anyone attached to go lives that begin in January with new care or caid contracts will likely work over holidays. I’m one of them and it really sucks.

This is the second year I’ll be working over the end of year holidays.

I won’t do it a third year. Will. Not. My kids are young and still believe in the magic of Christmas. You get like 10 of those years with young kids before they figure things out. I’ve already burned 2 of them for Centene. No more.

@1hra+1k4EG7Pj Once you add the context as to your role, the scenario at hand etc., you might get more sympathetic responses.

I think this post needs context. If your role is clinical and member facing, say for example the 24-hour nurse line, it's not unusual to work holidays (and get paid x1.5). Working some holidays is likely in the job description. That's the industry you chose, just like if you worked at a hospital or a jail or a police department. Certain things are 24/7/365 by nature and literally never close. However, if you're not clinical or member facing or another function that requires 24/7/365 operation, then yes, you should escalate your concern to a next level supervisor or HR. I'm a manager and am confident you will be heard if you direct your concerns to the right people and in the right way.

We don't care if you can follow along and we don't need to explain ourselves to you. We all know what goes on around here. The post remains AS IS.   PS:  Senior management and human resources are the problem, not the solution.

So you are working on holiday paid days off? Im not following? I agree with being present during the holidays and enjoying time off with your family. If you are being asked to work on a company holiday paid off, I would recommend speaking to your Sr. Management or HR.
