Seeing the post about an employee having a mental breakdown had me obligated to share my own little bit of "Transformative Growth" with all of you. The stress and mental anguish of Allstate us not worth affecting your health and personal life. No matter how hard you work and push yourself it means nothing. More high performing employees got laid off in 2020 than anyone and raise levels are a complete joke. Allstate had made it a point and have not even attempted to hide that they want to keep the low tenured mediocre performing grunt workers until they can start using their slave India labor. So why bother?
Cut your work performance and output to levels just above where you would be put on an improvement process plan. Sure your manager may squawk or cluck at you to do better but they can't do a thing if you barely skirt right above the unacceptable performance line. Just smile and nod at the pip. Who cares if there are 500 calls holding or if there are claim backed up? Not your problem. If Allstate doesn't care about you then why care about them?
This was my way of life until November when I got my notice. I was happy and stress free doing at little as I could for the 8 months or so prior to getting my 60 day notice. I was excited when I got my assessment and did the best I could on it knowing Allstate was going to let my high paid high tenure go. Fudging the assessment would have just played into their hands. Now I got my severance, drawing unemployment, and couldn't be happier. I have had a lot of job interviews and will pretty much have my pick of job once I decide to get back to work. There is a way to be stress free at Allstate until they give you the ax. Only fools and yes men/women ignorantly give 100% to a company that only gives 50% to them.
