Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

What Matters Most

If you died, your manager would put out a job posting in 48 hours looking for a replacement.
Your friends and family will never get that chance.
As much as a job is necessary, do not ignore the relationships where you remain irreplaceable.

Hellevance is not worth the garbage they have been throwing at you!

Glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't understand the flywheel.

It's a bird. It's a plane. It's a flywheel ruining everyone's lives.

Does it spin? I'm not even sure from the ppt slide.

To have been a flywheel on the wall during the meeting where Mckenzie decided on flywheel. And then to have our esteemed leaders talk about it like it actually makes sense...our stock may have dropped, but look out world, the flywheel is coming.

I can't bear to listen to it anymore. I turn the sound off and look at another screen during Gucci Belt's meetings. The jargon is a way to dress up and reuse the old, stale ideas and present them as "new." The only way to enjoy those meetings is to do an organized game of "Gucci Belt Jargon" bingo. Whoever wins gets an impact award!

So sick of all the jargon and buzzwords this company comes up with each year.

Tired of hearing Gail and her "flywheel" talks. What will it be next year?

Just like when a clutch goes bad on a car, this company needs to have its "flywheel" resurfaced!

Not sure if I get the flywheel analogy, but I 100% agree with @1his on the rest of the post. My manager and coworkers are like family. They’d be there and truly mourn for the loss of a friend, not just a coworker.
The company lost it’s way years ago. It’s soul got lost not too long afterwards.

To be technical. My manager would be attend my funeral as would my coworkers.

The company would repost my job. And/or force my boss to not backfill so they can consider me a rif.

The advice is solid, but it's not your manager. It's the company. It's corp values. Not theirs or yours. The corporation.

We are paying people at the top very well. So well in fact that they are destroying lives trying to keep the power within their own p&l. The person managing you is struggling with this just as much. If they don't have an official chief of staff, then they're not high enough on the totem pole to make any real decisions at this point. And if they do have a CoS and are a good person, no one is listening to them either.

It's the flywheel model when the spokes are all fighting to be the shinest one but the axle is rotten and the car is now driving itself away for preservation.
