Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

Microsoft & Planview

I have been in the company > 5 years working in various Orgs. This migration to O365 and Sharepoint has been a disgrace. Google sheets and Looker dashboards all losing functionality and requiring work. And having to run every tiny piece of work through the weeds of Planview.
How is this improving our company?
How is this improving collaboration?
Sorry for the rant and it might be off topic. BUT THIS IS A SHAMBLES.
When will the leaders be held to account instead of the poor workers dealing with their mess?!

I think some guy thought hmm, let me make a wave initiative to change us over from Google to MS and make me look like a hero and we are saving money!

@1gx it’s the online version that’s terrible. Offline is fine but you need an additional licence for that.

I agree that the rollout has been terrible. The permissions and restrictions have been terrible. The limitations of MS 365 are terrible. Back in the day, I thought Microsoft Office was superior. I'm not sure if it's gone to cr-p or if it's the package we purchased, but I would much rather being using Google at this point.
And I have worked at other Fortune 500 companies that use Google products.

@b0 could you elaborate a bit on this?

@b4 you should probably consider other companies use it because it’s a superior product and makes work better/more efficient

Ex Worldpay/now part of GP. Political issues preventing us Microsoft skilled professionals from helping adoption at GP. Have 20 years experience to help collab efforts but cant.

@af "Everyone else uses it" isn't a very good argument IMO. I'm not saying MS suite is a bad product, but GP's implementation of it has been pitiful.

@OP Completely agree. Yet to hear the leadership talk everything is now amazing but in reality it’s an absolute shambles.

No serious F500 is using Google products over Microsoft, it's embarassing to not have been using MS suite sooner frankly. Adapt or retire OP. It's not that hard.
