Thread regarding Adidas layoffs

Deliberate targeting of women & employee services?

Is adi deliberately targeting women in M2 positions and higher? Seems to be a lot who have „disappeared“ but male colleagues are still there.
Are employee services like the team which investigates employee misconduct also being targeted?
Are the adi upper male dominated management feeling threatened?

@1g6 When DEI is only performative this is what you get. Adi is famous in the region for toxicity.

Women in other locations seem to be getting promoted left right and center

The reply to the original post is ridiculous and is a generalisation or assumption that can be applied to any gender in any larger workplace. However they are right in that it is complicated - in ANY workplace you have people who are perceived to be “good at their job” or “qualified” for the job and others who are perceived not to be. Regarding women being targeted, you can request statistics on this from HR - they have them! They know exactly who left and which positions were eliminated through their systems. Whether they will share or not is another question, but you can certainly ask openly. Or approach the works council. It is worth noting that proportionally at adidas, there are more women in M1/M2 positions or below and therefore when you cut teams or positions are removed, there are more women affected. I can speak from experience that when our team was reduced, mostly women were affected who had skills and skills and huge experience in their jobs. On paper, the men who were “kept” in senior positions were less qualified and had less experience. It may be in some teams that women are targeted, however it is difficult to prove on a company-wide level. That’s why getting actual statistics, for example after all the VLPs are finished at the end of this year would be a helpful indicator, or ask the question in the town hall! Whatever is officially communicated by adidas will always be spinning things in a more positive light, so I wouldn’t go by any town hall info, better to put them on the spot.

Short answet: yes
Long answet: it's complicated
There are female colleagues that totally deserve the position of power. But for each one deserving it, you are several others with a meteoric career that are unable to answet the most basic questions. So it's very easy yo end up in a position of miss judging them
