Just a few words if somebody is considering joining Cigna. If you're ambitious and actually want to grow, this is not the place. It's stuck in the past, full of micromanagement and outdated systems, and the only thing that gets you ahead is kissing up to your manager's manager. I'm not joking, it's a career ki-ler.

Why does someone keep bragging about what management "lets" them do on their lunchbreak -- aka your own time? I'm baffled. You must be the kind of person who happily supports Authoritarian government because "dear leader" tells you exactly what you can or cannot do with your life.
Dammmnnnnnn!! 🥾👅
@1m8 Not only do I put people under the bus. Im the one that drives the bus 🚌 beep beep bop
@1m8 projecting or hating the game others play to get ahead? 🤪
Wow boot li---r hall of fame right there! You probably also love throwing people under the bus
Took my usual 12:10 - 12:22 nap in my car that my managers manager knows about today. Went back inside, licked some boots, sniffed some rear, and got to leave 5 minutes early…. Life is good, #cigna4life
@1fw yessir 🫡 lickin the boot every single day 😩
@1fs yet here you are.
bruh y’all work here still complaining on a layoff page says a lot. if you been contemplating to leave it’s time to start interviewing again. end of story
@tx Nope, actually started my career off in nonprofit, I'm here now. Do I regret it? No. Trade offs. Money is here but the overwhelming stress is much more here, don’t know if it’s worth it. But don’t knock it until u try it. Might leave the boat soon
They probably haven't done that themselves.
@tb have you done that before?
on the other side if u don't like the politics then I recommend you go to a smaller company with a less of a hierarchical culture. luckily have a decent team and manager. But another point, like the younger generation, just get the brand name and after X amount of experience. Then dip on ur on disposal. some of us can’t do that and I understand. but you have free will.
@t0 my b, ur younger millennial manager here that spoke like this. what’s not clocking to you?
sorry to break it to u but Cigna hires anyone, talent or not. all you gotta do is have the right connections and kiss some 🍑. You wonder why the stock is down because we have terrible leadership. it’s this easy to climb the ladder and have the wrong people promoted. the signs are all there, the stock tanking isn’t a surprise to anyone
Settle down grandma Martha, we aren’t doomed, don’t get your canvas bloomers in an uproar
If this is how our employees talk we are doomed. No wonder our stock is down and people are getting let go
I guess I’m a rear sniffer, I love my managers manager. She lets me take a 10 minute nap in my car on my lunch break. That nap is magically delicious.
This post is turning into Two Scoops of BS, just like management and their rear sniffing cronies
Thanks bootlickers and the manager's managers that they kiss up to. Our stock performance is looking gr-r-eat! today. Must be all that time spent on boot licking and not on working to help the company.
That’s why managers will stand at your cubicle, nose height to see who the best rear sniffer is, it’s in their training manual
Follow my nose, it always knows!
Y’all are absolutely wild! Who TF says sniffing rear?!? Is that a real term?!
Please don’t tell me it’s a new team building exercise
Also asking for a friend
You’re a shortcoming, go sniff some rear
Many responses here, could be considered written by employees who encountered missed expectations or shortcomings while at cigna…
Imagine if bootlicking is going to be your legacy in life.
Does sniffing rear help you get ahead? Asking for a friend.
Or it’s because you love kissing up, sniffing rear, and licking boots?
I love Cigna. I don’t care if you call me a bootlicker, maybe that’s why I’m offered opportunities and you aren’t? I’ve rose 4 band levels with all kinds of help and assistance from my great coworkers and leaders.
@h5 You make a valid point. At least we are not United Health/Optum! But, that is a very low bar 😩
Unfortunately most large corporations are like this now. I have multiple friends and relatives at other Fortune 100 companies and it’s pretty much the same. Some companies are even worse - just talk to anyone at United Healthcare. It’s a depressing reality.
Those individuals kissing up to the manager's manager are bootlickers who contribute nothing except drama. Shameless.
Agree.
And what’s sad is the enormous amount of overhauls of workflows, collapsing of teams, all based in making us even MORE micromanaged by our power hungry incompetent leaders who haven’t taken a course on culture and leadership for decades, and it’s showing.
How did we get here?
100% agree on this. My creativity, growth, advancement options and overall career have been stunted since joining here. I am actively looking a leaving.
Sad but true. Stay away from any place that micromanages. Places/people that micromanage have no idea how to lead.
